As for quizzo in the next few weeks, as you can see below there is a lot going on. In addition to the quizzo and comedy in Old City on Monday night, Mike Minion is hosting a post-Oscars movie quiz at the Westbury  at 9 p.m. Monday night.

The Spring Quizzo Invitational will be kicking off on March 7th. Teams who earn the most points will get an invite to the Big Spring Event (Time and location TBA).

I will try to get Quizzo Bowl questions posted on the site early next week. Have a great weekend everybody,a nd hope to see you Monday night!

Needless to say, the past month or so has been insane. Travelling to Denver, doing a gig in VA, and trying to get ready for Quizzo Bowl has made for a whirlwind, and I am still trying to put all the pieces back in place. So today, I am trying to get caught up on scores from the past two weeks. Last week’s scores I am just going to post, while this week I will also include avatars. THen I’m going to lay on my couch and eat pizza and catch up on the Jersey Shore episodes in my DVR.

I know how many movie buffs we’ve got in this crowd (Mike had a great turnout for his Bad Movies quiz this week), and I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that many of you are fans of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Therefore, I thought I’d let you know about a very fun event going down this Saturday at the Copabanana South Street. They’re gonna be showing the Rocky Horror Picture Show Saturday Night at 7 p.m. followed by a band performing live music from the film. They’re asking for no rice (those bits are kind of tired anyway, if you ask me), but they are asking for people to dress up. I know that you guys are cheap economical, so the fact that the event is free also makes me think you might be interested. Again, it’s this Saturday at 7 p.m. Just thought you might be interested.

Kristy and Koob are starting their own quizzo, but without all of those pesky questions about history and science. If you love movies, music, and modern literature, you’re going to love this quiz. The very first one is at the Raven Lounge Tuesday night @8 p.m. They then kick off their first quiz at the Khyber next week as the opener of a very special Old City doubleheader, as I will be hosting an awesome Comedy show across the street at Plough and the Stars as soon as their quizzo is completed.

Just a heads up that I just talked to WCL and there are about 20 seats left. Order them online! If you wait until tonight and order them at the door it’s just a roll of the dice. If 20 people get there before you, you can’t get in. You do not want to miss this quiz! The band is rehearsing the music round right now, Fastball Pitcher Bob Gutierrez is warming up in the bullpen, and there are some surprises in the celebrity round you do not want to miss.

We’re almost down to the 48 hour-to-go mark, and it is astounding how much more needs to be done. But it will be done, because, quite frankly, it has to. That said, there will be an ALL NEW quizzo tonight to give you one last chance to sharpen your skills. I wasn’t going to write a new one, but then I remembered I still had a couple of rounds of the quiz I did in VA this past weekend on standby, so I might as well use ’em. Action starts at 8 p.m. at Ugly American and 10:15 p.m. at the Bards.

As for tickets, get them from me tonight if you want to be guaranteed a spot at Quizzo Bowl. I will have the physical tickets on me tonight at both quizzes. After that, you gotta just hope that they’re will still be enough online. This is going to be a Quizzo Bowl for the ages, so don’t wait until it’s too late to get your team together.

Just got a question from someone that is going to blow the minds of pretty much everybody 30 and over. If I don’t screw up this wild card round, it’s going to perhaps the most epic in Quizzo history.

I’ve got a crazy day, getting three new local celebrities to record questions for Quizzo Bowl. Gonna be running all over the city, but all three of these guys are gonna be really good. This wild card round is gonna be one for the ages. Assuming of course, there are no technical difficulties, or the electricity goes out, and then I just stand on stage hollering out questions off the top of my head and the whole thing is a total disaster and people storm out the doors angry and my quizzo career is ruined. Not that I’m getting anxious or anything.

As for quizzo tonight, we start at the Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m. $3 Magic Hat Vinyls and $2 Mich Ultras. Always a good quizzo crowd, and some of my favorite teams. The Jams and 1022 are in for Quizzo Bowl. Let’s see if any other Vous teams are gonna take their shot at ultimate glory (Barristers and Magnus, I’m looking at you.) Then on to the Black Sheep, who are going to be repped by Duane’s World. Who else? We’ll see. I’ll have tickets on me tonight. I’m telling you, folks, this wild card round alone is gonna be worth the cost of admission. It’s gonna be insane.

Hey gang, just a quick reminder that there’s no need to sit home and cry in your beer this Valentine’s Day, when you could be crying in your beer at the Westbury. Mike Minion hosts a “Love Gone Wrong” quiz tonight starting at 9 p.m. Always great beer specials, and always some cool giveaways. Should be fun.
