Play Philadelphia’s Most Overrated Bar Game Tonight!

Who’s ready for some overrated fun? Well then read a little Philebrity, grab a Krimpet, hop on a bike, and head on over to quizzo tonight! We’re going to be dealing with two of the most overrated topics of all time: science and humanities. If I hear one more word about diffusion I’m going to scream! Enough already!

Action starts at Ugly American at 8 p.m. Dollar corn dogs. Yeah, that’s right. $1. Now I know what you’re thinking: “Corn dogs? You mean the most overrated form of hot dog ever?” That’s exactly what I mean. Dirt cheap Lagers too, unless you want to take recommendations from Foobooz and find out where you can find black lizardfish carpaccio with your $8 glass of Trappist Ale brewed with the sweat of Belgian elves. In which case we can’t help you.

On to the Bards at 10:15 p.m. “But Irish bars are so gauche,” you say, adjusting your ascot. “Besides, 10:15 p.m. is way past me and Lady Jezebel’s bedtime!” You have a toy poodle named Lady Jezebel. Because you’re an a$$hole.

Lager special at Bards. Oh, and of course it’s French Fry Thursday. Now, I know some of you only eat French Fries that come from organic, hydroponic potatoes. Well, to accommodate you, we’re going to kick your ass if you come to quizzo tonight. Just a little heads up.

UPDATE: Also, Koob and Kristy are hosting a Monty Python quiz tonight at Drinker’s Old City. Action starts at 8 p.m.

Back in Business

Word on the street is that things were bumping last night. And needless to say, the entire city is ready to welcome me back with open arms. And so I will expect a hero’s welcome tonight, first at the Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m., then at the Black Sheep at 8 p.m. All questions about Science and Humanities. Hope to see you tonight!

And speaking of back in business, I wonder if Mozart ever imagined Redman rapping over his Symphony No. 40 (3rd Movement), like he did on EPMD’s Back in Business album?

Science and Humanities Week Starts Tonight

Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll certainly made for an interesting week, but don’t worry nerds, this week we’re coming back into your wheelhouse. All questions on Science and Humanities. Furthermore, tonight’s quiz will be hosted by Kristy B. I am currently kickin’ it in Cape Charles, VA, and will be returning tomorrow. Yes, I know I haven’t posted scores yet. But wait, I can explain! Yesterday I took a kayak tour to a winery, so needless to say I wasn’t gonna get a lot done then, and today it’s 85 and sunny and my nieces are on a beach about two blocks from where I am typing this, so I am kind of in a rush to get down there. That doesn’t mean I don’t care about you nerds. You know that I do. But I gotta get to the beach. So you may have to wait until tomorrow to get JGTSI scores updated.

As for tonight, expect a fair amount of questions on art, literature, theatre, philosophy, biology and perhaps a bit of chemistry. (Sorry, Mike Minion, no nuclear physics questions.) Kristy is writing tonight’s questions, so they should be interesting. Action starts at O’Neals at 8 p.m. and moves to City Tap House at 10:15 p.m. Tomorrow everything returns to normal, as I’ll be headed back to the big city. See ya then!

Sex! Drugs! French Fries!

All new sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll quiz tonight. So far, this has been a very interesting week, as the music round being Round Four has turned things on their head. Kick it off at Ugly American at 8 p.m. Things have been jumping there the last couple of weeks, but still no clear cut front runner. On the Bards at 10:15 p.m., where we had a huge upset last week. Tonight’s topics include porn and classic rock, so if you like either of those things, make it out tonight.

Sex Questions With Timaree

This week’s sex round was written by Dr. Timaree, who recently earned her doctorate in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University. Timaree also writes the extremely entertaining blog sexwithtimaree.com, where you can hear interviews with strippers, learn where the term “drag” (as in drag queen) comes from, and find out the coolest news about sex and the sexes without having to do any work (Such as how men and women vote differently on Jeopardy). And while you’re at it, Like Sex With Timaree on facebook. It’s fine. But uh, I wouldn’t suggest doing any of these things at work.

Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll Making for an Interesting Quiz

A rather intriguing quiz this week. The Rock n Roll Mystery Round seems quite popular, and the sex round seems rather tough. For the first time ever, the impossible round is a music round. Hey, it’s a topsy-turvy world we live in. Tonight we go to Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m., where the Jams have finally cooled off, and we’ve had two different winners the past two weeks. On to the Black Sheep at 8 p.m., where Duane’s World defied the odds and pulled off a 4th round comeback for the ages last week. Will they be able to name that tune this week? We’ll find out tonight. Hope to see ya there!

Sexologist Timaree to be Guest Host Tonight at City Tap House

A few months ago local sexologist Timaree agreed to come into my basement to talk about sex (If you haven’t watched the video yet, I highly recommend it). Well, tonight she’s agreed to come to City Tap House to ask questions about sex. As part of Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll Week, Timaree has come up with her own round of sex-related questions that she’ll be asking tonight. Action starts at City Tap House at 10:15 p.m., after tonight’s quiz at O’Neals at 8 p.m. (Oh, and to see Part 2 of the above video, click here.)

Week 2 of the JGTSI; One of Our Craziest Weeks Ever

Don’t remember the last time we had a week like this. The Jams fall, the Steak loses twice by double digits, and Duane’s World has to stage a furious comeback to win at the Black Sheep. L. Ron would have gone down at the Ugly American…but the 2nd place team forgot to look up the question of the week and it cost them the game. Duane’s World was down 16 at the Sheep, but Pesca pulled a Lebron in the 4th and missed the last 4 questions and missed the bonus by one year, costing them a 4 point lead. Meanwhile, the facebook physical challenge board is straight blowing up. The scoreboard is going to look very interesting come Monday. And out topic for next week? Sex, Drugs, and Rock ‘n’ Roll. It’s only gonna get crazier.

UPDATE: Mike will not be hosting his quiz at Ugly American on Sunday night because of Father’s Day. We’ll keep you updated on his next quiz.

All New Y2Quiz Tonight

All new questions about the 2000s at quizzo tonight. Looking to get on the big board in an effort to help defend Philly’s honor against Denver? Your best shot is Ugly American at 8 p.m., where there really is no favorite. 3 different winners in the past 3 weeks. On to the Bards, where the Steak holds court. They were upset at 2000s quizzo on Tuesday. Could another upset be in the works tonight? Action starts at 10:15 p.m. Hope to see ya tonight!

UPDATE: Koob and Kristy are hosting a Freddie vs. Jason quiz this week at Drinker’s Old City. Action starts at 8 p.m.
