Hard to believe, but we’ve been doing this thing for a year now. Which means that tournament time is here! In what we suspect will be our final “full scale” season before returning to some semblance of normal, we’ll determine if Social Distance Warriors can repeat as champions (don’t worry, out-of-towners and suburbanites…we’ll still be running leagues online forever, as longs as there are teams that want to play them). Here’s how it’s going to be set up:
ROUND ONE (The Wild Card Round) can be played in any of 3 sessions: Monday at 8:00, Tuesday at 8:00, or Tuesday at 9:30 (each team chooses ONE session).The following teams have earned a Wild Card spot:

The top 5 teams per conference (by score/tiebreaker) will then advance to… ROUND TWO (The Semifinals), which can be played in any of 3 sessions: Wednesday at 8:00, Thursday at 8:00, or Thursday at 9:30 (each team chooses ONE session).

The above will battle the ten Round One winners for the right to play for championship glory in the WAR TO END ALL WARZ on Sunday night at 7:30. The top 4 teams per conference (by score/tiebreaker) will advance to this final game.
THE WINTER SNOREZ – a consolation game for all non-playoff teams – will be held this Wednesday at 8 PM. For those who participated in last season’s “Fall Crawl”, you know this’ll be a fun one.
For the championship game on Sunday night, everyone else is welcome to play along from home, as we will stream it live from the Johnny Goodtimes Quizzo Facebook page.

As for our next league, APRIL MAYHEM, you can register for that here. Running from March 29-May 22, we expect this to be our last full-scale Virtual Quizzo season, with 5 “seeding” games culminating in a full-scale March Madness-style tournament, which is how we started things way back when this whole pandemic started. What a year it’s been. Finally, J Michael, Carl and JGT will be hosting a playoff preview show on Facebook tomorrow night at 6:30. Hope to see ya there. Wanna hang out (Finally!), eat a burger, drink a beer, and do some good for the community? Join us at 1505 West Allegheny on Saturday at noon. We’ll have gloves and garbage bags, we’ll have the grill, we’ll have tunes, and we’ll have some beers. Hope to see ya there!
Also: Philly activist Nasir Bell and are going to be doing a lot of community activities this summer and fall. If the past year has taught us anything, it’s that if we ever want Philly to change for the better, it’s up to us…the government, the corporations, the local sports teams, etc. aren’t going to do shit. So we started a little group where we’ll be updating all of the stuff we’ll be working on in the next few months. And I really hope you’ll join us…the other thing we learned this past year is that we’ve got a really special community here, and I think we can use it as not just an opportunity to answer trivia questions, but to do some good in the city we call home.
