Your last chance to play the overrated/underrated quiz is tonight at North Star. Action starts at 7 p.m., and as always, I will have drinks and show tickets to give away. It’s a very fun place to quiz, and the last couple of weeks we’ve gotten to enjoy some live music between rounds. Hope to see ya tonight!

JGT Power Rankings Extended to Top 12
A weird week last week, as the Phillies games had us scrambling to reschedule and move around quizzes. Nonetheless, we continue to have a lot of parity, with teams rarely winning on back to back weeks. It really has made for a lot of movement on the Power Rankings.
1. Steak Em Up (Bards). A loss at O’Neals with a small team, but an easy win at a crowded Bards pulls them into the top spot. But it wasn’t all good for the Steak. Nate “Facepaint” DiGiorgio had to watch the Eagles blow it again, then had his fantasy football team crushed by mine. Last week: #3
2. What’s Good for the Puma (Black Sheep). Two wins in a row for the Puma at Black Sheep has really put this fairly new squad on the JGT radar in a hurry. Last week: #6
3. Team Popesack (North Star). Only two teams showed at North Star thanks to Phillie fatigure, so we just went ahead and had a friendly. It actually turned out to be a hell of a lot of fun, and we even got live music at the end of it. Popesack won, though it doesn’t count in the Invite. Hopefully, they’ll test their mettle against some tougher competition this week. Last week: #2
4. The Jams (Locust Rendezvous). A 3rd place finish at the Vous, but that was rather deceiving. The change in days left them with only two players. I fully expect them to bounce back this week. Last week: #1
5. Million Dollar Robot Baby (City Tap House). Cruise to an easy win at CTH, and coupled with another loss by Duane’s World, they make the move into the Top 5. Matt’s daughter also played in her first soccer game this week. And judging from the facebook pictures, I have extremely good news to report: the little girl looks like her mother. Last week: #10.
6. Mysterious Mr. Mapother (O’Neals). A huge win over Steak Em Up, plus John gave me some quizzo pens for free. Any team that donates pens to the cause gets a bump in the rankings guaranteed. Also, money will work. Last week: NR
7. L. Ron Hubbard’s Diabetics (Ugly American). Survive in OT at the Ugly American. And rumors of a “Hopalong” Cliver sighting at tonight’s quiz. I hope his 8 year rehab from that knee injury is almost over. Last week: NR
8. Why Can’t Us (Ugly American). Heartbreaking loss in OT @ UA. OMG. LOL. Last week: #7
9. Duane’s World (Black Sheep). Another 2nd place finish at the Sheep coupled with several new winners last week has this former #1 slipping down the rankings, though the housework JohniE and Mike did for us this past week keeps them in the Top 10. Last week: #5
10. Magnus ver Magnusson (Locust Rendezvous). About damn time. Last week: NR
11. Inglorious Barristers (Locust Rendezvous). Adam couldn’t make it on Thursday because he had band practice. Seriously. I’m guessing it’s a Backstreet Boys tribute band, but I could be wrong. Last week: #4
12. Madame Butterface (Locust Rendezvous). A 2nd place finish at the toughest bar on the circuit earns the Butterface a top 12 finish. Last week: NR

Latest JGTAI Scoreboard Is Up
As we head into Week 4, the wheat is starting to separate itself from the chaff. Teams in yellow would earn an invite if the season ended today. Fortunately for teams in purple or not yet on the board, the season doesn’t end today. You’ve still got 5 more weeks. And I’m going to give you one more day with the current physical challenge if you want to score some points quickly and fairly easily. New physical challenge will go up tomorrow.

Science Quiz for Charity This Sunday
Love science? Want to help raise money for a terrific cause? Looking to get your team in the hunt of the JGT Autumn Invitational and try to win a $200 gift certificate? Then be sure to make it out to City Tap House this Sunday for a Science Spectacular and help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There will be over $350 in prizes for the Top 3 finishers, as well as raffle prizes to give away throughout the evening.
Former quizzo regular Andi (who used to play for Axis of Evil Knieval), was diagnosed with lymphoma recently. Her treatments are going well, and thanks to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, her expenses have been kept very low. In return, she’d like to do something for them. So she, Kristy, and Koob are going to host a science quizzo fundraiser this Sunday at City Tap House. Action starts at 6 (Though it may be adjusted, depending on what the Phils do).
CTH is being generous enough to offer some great prizes for the winners. $200 for the winners, $100 for 2nd, $50 for 3rd. There will also be raffles throughout the evening, with gift certificates to the Sidecar, Divan, tix to an upcoming North Star show and 2 tickets to the Mayor’s Box at a Flyers game among the many giveaways. Tickets are $10 each with the money all going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Furthermore, there will be double points offered in the JGT Autumn Invitational. 10 points for the winners, 6 points for 2nd, and 2 for 3rd. Hope you and your team can make it out to this great event!
JGT Power Rankings for Week of October 4th
JohnniE of Duane’s World said after their loss last week: “There are 3 places that nobody wants to be, because of the accompanying curse. The cover of SI, the cover of Madden, and #1 on the JGT power rankings.” Well, the top 3 teams in the past 3 rankings have all lost the following week, so there could be some truth to that statement. We’ll see if this week’s #1 can avoid the curse. If your team made the cut, click like below to show off to your friends how much of a nerd you are.
1. The Jams (Locust Rendezvous). They are a team of mystery outside of the Vous since they refuse to have their photo taken, but being the top team at JGT’s toughest quizzo bar makes them the picture of success. (That’s terrible writing, folks.) Last week: #5
2. Team Popesack (North Star). This 3 player team just keeps on winning at North Star. With the other top teams tumbling, they make a giant leap in the standings. Last week: #6
3. Steak Em Up (CTH and Bards). Were primed to take ove rhte top spot with a big win on Tuesday and a big lead on Thursday, but a stunning collapse in the final round keeps them in the #3 spot. Last week: #3
4. Inglorious Barristers (Locust Rendezvous). Keep in mind the QCS computers keep strength of schedule in mind when making these rankings, and a first and 2nd place finish the past two weeks at the Vous has the Barristers shooting up the charts. Last week: #7
5. Duane’s World (Black Sheep). A third place finish knocks the World out of the top spot, but at least lifts the dreaded JGT Cover curse. Last week: #1
6. What’s Good for the Puma (Black Sheep). Now that Catdog has started getting married, having children, and behaving like adults, there has been a bit of a power vacuum at Black Sheep the past few months. Enter a new cat. What’s Good for the Puma looks like they might be taking up the role of Duane’s World’s chief nemesis with an impressive win this past week. Last week: NR
7. Why Can’t Us (Ugly American). Heidi’s husband Bill looks an awful lot like Joe Blanton, but this team is still all aces. Last week: NR
8. Phillies Nutz (Bards). A huge come from behind win for the Nutz, as they knock off the Steak at the Bards on Thursday. Last week: NR
9. Jews for Tom Cruise (O’Neals). Win a defensive struggle at O’Neals on Tuesday to climb into the Top 10. Last week: NR
10. Million Dollar Robot Baby (City Tap House). Record the 2nd highest score on the JGT circuit last week…and lose to Steak Em Up, who had the highest. Last week: NR

Question fo the Week
A Few Changes on Quizzo Schedule for This Week
Needless to say, we are tweaking this week’s schedule around a bit with the Phils. The schedule is as follows for this week:
TUESDAY
- O’Neals 8 p.m. or nearabout. As soon as the Phils game is over, we will begin the quiz, but not before.
- City Tap House 10:15 p.m. As scheduled
WEDNESDAY
- Black Sheep 9 p.m. roughly. As soon as the Phils game ends, we will start the quiz at Black Sheep.
THURSDAY
- Locust Rendezvous 6 p.m. Believe it or not, I am planning to start the Vous quiz on time this week, as we have a Thursday tripleheader.
- Ugly American 8 p.m. As scheduled
- Bards 10:15 p.m. As scheduled
SUNDAY
- City Tap House 6 p.m. Science Quiz. This one could be changed, depending on what the Phillies do and if they make the NLCS, what time they will play that day. We’ll keep you updated.
There will be two quizzes this week as part of our overrated/underrated week. I think I got enough material from you guys last week to do two. There will be One quiz for Tuesday-Wednesday, and one for Thursday. So if you play Tuesday or Wednesday, you can come back and play at any of the quizzes Thursday. Hope to see you this week, and Go Phils!
