Quick Notes About QBV

Just wanna answer a few questions I’ve been getting. First of all, we are going to need to maximize space, so smaller teams will be matched with teams that need a couple of people. Again, having a small team is OK, but we’re just gonna have to do some sorting around once we get there. Team maximum is 8. I am excited about the fact that it seems like a lot of teams are dressing up. I’m gonna save the first three rows for teams that dress up. If more than 15 dress up, then priority will be given to the first ones who arrive. Doors open at 5 p.m., show starts at 6 p.m. SHARP. Their will be 48 questions, 4 rounds of 12 each. The questions will be tougher than usual. I do have lots of gift certificates to give away as well, so we’ll have lots of winners. Finally, and this is very important: I will not be rapping at this event.

Local Emo Punk Band Inspired by Quizzo

killface.jpgThis from this week’s Philadelphia Weekly: How, exactly, does one stumble upon the moniker “Kill You in the Face”? For the eponymous local band, it stems from an intense dislike of Quizzo. “It was a tongue-in-cheek sort of thing,” says Kill guitarist Mike Romeo. The band regularly met at a bar Tuesday nights, despite the fact it also featured Quizzo. “We’d be mad about it, but one day we decided to play,” Romeo explains. They named their team Kill You in the Face, and a band name was born.

You’re welcome.

Couple of Quick Quizzo Bowl Notes

First of all, just a heads up. We will be starting at precisely 6 p.m. on Saturday, not the normal Johnny Goodtimes schedule. Doors open at 5 p.m., but be in your seat by six, because that’s when the trailer to the Quizzo Bowl Documentary will begin. Also, I need one more person to help with scoring, preferably someone with a little Microsoft Excel knowledge. If you aren’t playing but wanna see the show and are good at grading papers, let me know. I will have tickets on me tonight at quizzo, or you can purchase them online. It’s gonna be a hell of a show folks. Where else will you see a Hall and Oates cover band, a Lion Troupe, and have a chance to win $800 this weekend?
