Yes, the Nova game will be played during Quizzo Bowl V. I am shocked that the NCAA would do this to me. I guess this is payback for my harsh words in the past about the BCS. Anyways, here’s the deal. They do have a TV at the Palace, and I’m pretty sure it can get the game. However, I’m not gonna have the game running during the whole quiz. Too distracting. But the Nova game starts at 7:05 and I expect to be done with questions at around 8:30. So barring some sort of slowdown or problem, you should be able to catch crunch time of the game. I’m not making any promises, but I’ll see what I can do. Also, while you are welcome to check the game scores on your phone during breaks, you will not be allowed to have any electronic device during game play or your team will be eliminated.

Couple of Quick Quizzo Bowl Notes
![]()
First of all, just a heads up. We will be starting at precisely 6 p.m. on Saturday, not the normal Johnny Goodtimes schedule. Doors open at 5 p.m., but be in your seat by six, because that’s when the trailer to the Quizzo Bowl Documentary will begin. Also, I need one more person to help with scoring, preferably someone with a little Microsoft Excel knowledge. If you aren’t playing but wanna see the show and are good at grading papers, let me know. I will have tickets on me tonight at quizzo, or you can purchase them online. It’s gonna be a hell of a show folks. Where else will you see a Hall and Oates cover band, a Lion Troupe, and have a chance to win $800 this weekend?
Lion Troupe Added to the Show

Got our halftime entertainment, gang. A Lion Troupe, like the ones you see on Chinese New Year, will be entertaining us for halftime (which we are gonna move back to the end of the third round). This is gonna be off the hook. As far as ticket sales, we just crossed the 125 sold mark, and I am holding another 50 for people. That leaves 100 unclaimed tickets left total. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL SATURDAY TO BUY YOUR TICKETS. I am fairly certain they will be sold out by then. I will have them on me tonight at quizzo, or you can buy them online.
Question of the Week

Born on March 24th, 1829, this man ran for President in 1872, made a fortune in real estate and railroads, and inspired Jules Verne by going around the world in 80 days. Who was he?
Quizzo Bowl News

There’s a lot going on today. We’ve lined up a Quizzo Bowl sponsor (Sly Fox) and an afterparty (Downey’s.) We also got a little love from our good friends over at NBCPhiladelphia, who did a little write up on our event. You should probably check out the article. It contains a pretty big hint about what one of the rounds is going to be. If you wanna buy tickets now, you can purchase them here, or you can see me this week at quizzo. Halftime act will be announced tomorrow. For more info on the event, click here.
Sly Fox Joins the Mix

For the 2nd straight year, the good folks at Sly Fox Brewery are gonna help us party at Quizzo Bowl. Sly Fox is generously donating several kegs to the cause. Beer will be free at Quizzo Bowl.
Quizzo Bowl Afterparty Going Down at Downey’s

I searched far and wide for the perfect afterparty venue and I found it. Don’t know if you’ve seen the upstairs at Downey’s lately, but it extremely awesome and we get to use the upstairs balcony which has a great view of the River. I hadn’t been upstairs in a while and was blown away by how good it looks. This place is gonna be perfect for the afterparty. Oh, and Lagers are on sale for $2.50. Boo-ya.
