Autumn Quiz at Navy Yard Fall Festival This Saturday

Very cool event coming up this Saturday at the Navy Yard. Gonna be hosting a quiz as part of the Philadelphia Horticultural Society’s annual Fall Festival. The quiz will focus on fall and plants, though we’ll use that theme quite loosely (questions about Pumpkin beers and Daisy Buchanan will quite likely find their way into the mix.)

It’s all part of a very fun festival going down at the Navy Yard starting at 11 a.m. and running all day with live music, cold beer, scarecrow contests, and more. Admission and parking are both free, and the 17 bus runs right to the spot. The team that wins will get automatic entry into the JGT Autumn Invitational in November. The day starts at 11, and the quizzo starts at 4:30 p.m. Hope to see ya down there!

High Cheese Makes It’s Dramatic Finale This Friday Night

First of all, want to thank everyone who came out to our Fringe show this past Saturday night. We had a really nice turnout (with tons of quizzo folks) and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Perhaps the best came from Jon K., who said, “I don’t know anything about baseball, but it really didn’t matter. That was a really fun show.”

Well, the good news is that even if you missed it the first time, we’re doing it again this Friday. Once again, it’s at the Adobe Cafe at 8 p.m. It’s a mere $10 and you can purchase tickets here or at the door.

Things have been quiet at O’Neals the past couple of weeks. Great chance to earn an early win and earn a $50 gift cert. That buys a lot of $5 burritos and quesadillas and $3.50 margaritas. Action starts at 8 p.m.

On to City Tap House at 10:30 p.m. The kids have started to return, so I’d expect a pretty big turnout tonight. We’re returning to our 4 round format this week, and we’ve got a pretty easy speed round. $100 gift cert for the winner. See ya tonight!

Bards Quiz Moved to Wednesday…Can You Win Two Quizzes in One Night?

Tripleheader time on Wednesday! Yep, the friggin Eagles and I are in the midst of a major rivalry. First they screw up quizzo last Monday, now their doing the same this Thursday. It’s obvious they are trying to run me out of business so they have one less corporation to compete for your entertainment dollars with.

But I saw that blitz coming and completed a short screen pass into the flat (terrible analogy): We’re gonna do the Bards quiz on Wednesday night at 10 p.m. Which is awesome. Why is it awesome? It’s awesome because Wednesday nights at the Bards are freaking incredible. Almost of of their craft beers are $4. If you love a good beer and a good quiz, be there on Wednesday.

And I’m gonna mix the quizzes up on Wednesday…gonna do the early week quiz at Vous and Black Sheep, and a new quiz at Bards, so if you are feeling wild and crazy, you can play two quizzes in the same night. In fact, if you win two quizzes in the same night, you will earn an automatic invite to the Invitational!*

Autumn Invitational Kicks Off Tonight!

Alright, the offseason is over. It’s game time! The Autumn Invitational begins tonight, and we’ve got a few extra wrinkles in store this season. More on those soon. But in the meantime, we kick it off at North Star tonight at 7 p.m. A great opportunity to earn an early season victory. I’l have tickets to give away to upcoming North Star shows as well as candy in Name That Tune. Gonna be a lot of fun.

Meanwhile, the Sidecardigans seem to be heating back up but they are certainly not unstoppable. Action starts at 9:30 p.m. Gonna have some fun stuff to give away. Hope to see ya tonight!
