Final Scores at the JGTSI

Here were the final scores on Sunday at the JGTSI, held at the Urban Saloon. Terrific job by the Ronnie Band between rounds, and great hospitality by the Saloon gang. And in the end, the winners and losers were decided by a Creed song. It turns out that Kristy on the Jesters had the AOL handle of Creedrocksgirl back in the day (true story), which is how they got the question right (Duane’s World missed it) and ultimately won the game.

Also, a big shout out to There’s No I in Quizzo, who after a last place finish at the Spring Invitational, pulled themselves up by the bootstraps and ran with the big dogs at this summer’s event, finishing tied for 3rd.

Quizzo Tonight

We kick it off at Industry at 6:30 p.m. Been a little quiet the past few weeks. A great opportunity to sneak in and get a win. As usual, $3 and $4 craft beers and delicious food. One of my favorite places to quiz.

On to Bards at 9:15. The old classic. Over 500 quizzes and still going strong. Make it happen, and be sure you have someone on your team who knows at least a little bit of contemporary music. See ya tonight!

The Deal for Sunday’s Big Event

WHO: The teams who qualified for the 6th Annual JGTSI, the Ronnie Band, and I think my mom is also going to be there.

WHAT: The 6th Annual JGTSI Invitational.

WHEN: Sunday, August 16th at 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: Urban Saloon. 21st and Fairmount.

WHY: Why not?

WHAT’S THE DEAL? Teams have been duking it out for the past several months to earn a place at the table. And now they will do battle at the Urban Saloon to determine an ultimate Champion of Summer. 50 questions of trivia, live music between rounds, and $3 beers. Doesn’t get much better than that.

WAIT, YOU SAID THE 5TH ONE EARLIER, NOW YOU’RE SAYING THE 6TH ONE. WHAT’S THE DEAL? Wow, just realized we’ve been doing this craziness since 2010. Here are our previous winners:

Tripleheader Tonight

Just cruised in to Philly, and better get my act together quick…we’ve got a tripleheader on tap. We start at the Markets at Comcast at 5:30. On to O’Neals at 8 p.m. And we wrap it up at City Tap House at 10:15. You can earn an automatic invite by winning any of these events. Hope to see ya tonight!

Wild Card Week Begins Tonight

The action kicks off tonight at North Star at 7 p.m. Any team who finishes first this week gets an automatic invite to the Invitational (and any team that finishes 2nd gets put on  the waiting list, in case we have any openings.) Two great chances tonight, as both the North Star and Sidecar have quite a bit of parity.

After North Star at 7 p.m., we’ll move it on over to Sidecar at 9:30. I’m actually in Virginia until tomorrow, so the Sandman will be filling in. Good luck earning a spot, and teams that have yet to RSVP for the Invite, be sure to get back to me.
