December Sign-Ups are Live!

Looking top play a little quizzo during December? Good news, we got ya covered. Just go here and sign up. And here’s the payment breakdown:

It’s $35 a la carte, or $150 for all 5 weeks (a savings of $25)

Just send your money to @jgtquizzo on venmo, fill in the days you wanna play, and have at it.

We’ll keep track of each week’s scores, and monthly averages for any teams that play 3 or more weeks.

NOTE: I’m not open much after week 1 due to corporate jawns. But who cares you jerks all love J. Michael more tha worry not! I will be hosting some special quizzes this month. More info on those soon.

Thanksgiving Eve Quiz

Thanksgiving in 2020 is going to be…strange. Just like everything else in this godforsakern year. But that doesn’t mean that it can’t also be fun. So whattya say we spend Thanksgiving Eve together, having a few drinks, heckling JGT, and playing a little quizzo? You can purchase tickets here at eventbrite. $35 covers not just you but your whole team. We’ll also be doing a 50/50 raffle during the quiz, with money raised going to buy heaters for the Poor People’s Army.

No regular season quizzes next week, just this one quiz. Then we’ll be back the following week with a full schedule. Hope to see ya on Wednesday!

Moving The Halloween Quizzo Fundraiser Online

Hey guys, we’ve decided to postpone tomorrow’s in person quizzo at Yards. There are just so many things going on in the city right now and doing an in-person quizzo in the midst of all of it…just doesn’t feel right. But we still want to celebrate Halloween and we still want to raise money for our friends at Beyond the Bars. As we emerge to whatever our city is after this 2020 insanity, we will more than ever need to support organizations like this who give our city’s young people such a positive outlet.

So here’s the plan: we’re going to do a virtual quiz. It will be $30 a team. 50% of all money raised will go towards Beyond the Bars. It’s basically the same thing we did over the summer.

If you already paid here’s what we can do: I’ll be reaching out on venmo, and will send you your money back, though we’d still love to have you join us tmrw night.

If you wanna play virtually on Friday night, you can do so by signing up here. Only change from the previous quiz other than moving it online is that we’re bumping it back a half hour to 7 PM. If we get to 10 teams we’ll do the quiz. Hope to see ya tmrw night!

Fundraiser for the Armenia Fund on Sunday Night!

Our good friend Steve O of Lambda is hosting a quizzo for Armenian relief this Sunday as part of our semi-regular Quizzo for the Cause series. It’ll be the same Sunday night quiz many of you played over the summer, just with a different host (J Michael will be helping out Steve). It’s $30 per team to play, and money goes towards the Armenia Fund.

No the questions will not be all about Armenia, but I’d expect a few. Wanna play? Just sign up here and send your $30 to @jgtquizzo on Venmo.

Virtual Music and Movie Quiz Saturday Night

Missing the music quiz Friday night at Yards? No problem, you can play it Saturday night online! We’ll be doing this one as a fundraiser for the Lansdowne Theatre, one of the last 1920s theatres in the area. The questions will be about music, with some movie questions sprinkled in. It’s just $30 a team to play, and it goes to a great cause. Action starts at 7 PM on Saturday, October 17th, and you can purchase tickets here. They’re just $30 a pop. Hope to see ya there!

Greenfest Quizzo on the 27th! (UPDATE!)

Philadelphia’s oldest environmental non-profit, the Clean Air Council, puts on the Philly Greenfest every year. This year it’s gone virtual, and that’s where quizzo comes in. Gonna be hosting a “Green” quiz on Sunday, September 27th at 7 PM (we moved it back a couple of days). It’s free to play, and 50% of the tips go to the Clean Air Council. If you want to join in the fun and help raise money for a terrific organization, just sign up here. On the morning of the 27th, I’ll send a Zoom invite to you which you can then share with your teammates and you’ll meet with Carl on Zoom at 7 pm.

Sign Ups for This Week

Well the SUMMER SLAM is over but the Summer is not, and so we’ve got some more quizzing to do. Hope you’ll join us over the next three weeks. You can sign up here. We’ll keep track of our highest scores each week and we’ll have some new official rankings along the way. Sign ups are still $35, with $5 of each one going to the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign. Hope to see ya again soon!

Professionals Week

In the lead up to our big Office quiz on Sunday, our theme this week is professionals. Because if there’s one thing we pride ourselves on here at JGT Quizzo, it’s professionalism. LOL, just kidding. So expect questions about various occupations: from teachers to bartenders to used car salesmen. We’ll see ya this week!

Sunday Night Quizzo for Broad Street Ministry

After taking off the 5th, we’ll be back this Sunday with a fundraiser the Broad Street Ministry, who do tremendous work with the city’s homeless. One of their many programs is the Clothing Closet, which last year distributed over 15,000 articles of clothing. It’s free to play, and 50% of all tips on Sunday night will go to BSM. Hope you’ll join us this Sunday at 8 PM.
