Koob and Kristy kick off their pop culture quiz tonight at the Khyber at 7 p.m. $50 first prize for the winners, and crazy good drink specials and excellent food.

They will then be taking their pop-culture quiz to National Mechanics. Great bar, I’m sure they’ll have some great specials. More details in the next couple of days. Kickoff is at 8 p.m.

On Thursday, they’ll be hosting an All-Beatles quiz at Drinker’s Tavern in Old City (124 Market). Action starts at 8 p.m. They host a great quiz, hope you can make it out!

We’re gonna be kicking off at Percy St. BBQ on Sunday at 1 p.m. It’s gonna be a lot of fun. Steve-O will be playing between rounds, as well as helping one lucky team try to become the 3rd team ever to win an INvitational. Sofa Kingdom won the 2010 Summer Invitational, with the Exhausted Nihilists pulling off an upset at the Fall Invitational. Who will be our 3rd winner? We’ll find out tomorrow. In addition to some fun questions and great live entertainment, there will be $3 Sly Fox beers and $3 Hillbilly Gatorade. We’ve had a couple of Top 10 teams pull out, so any teams with 10 or more points in the JGTSpI are eligible for the $100 bonus prize. If you have a couple of players and want to play tomorrow, just let me know and I can put you on a team with less than 8 players (which is team max.) Entry fee is $10. Hope to see ya tomorrow! Yes, there are certificates to the JGTSpI, and I will be giving out the final ones tonight at the Ugly American and Bards. Action starts at UA at 8 p.m. $2 lagers. We move to Bards at 10:15 p.m. (Don’t worry if you can’t pick up your invite before Sunday. Just let me know if your team made it if they want to play.)

We raised a lot of money at quizzo last night for CHOP, almost $200. Many extremely generous people in the quizzo community, including members of the staff at both the Rendezvous and the Black Sheep. Quizzo at O’Neals is cancelled this week due to Game 7, but worry not…there will be two different quizzes at City Tap House tonight. First up, at 8 p.m. Kristy B. and I are going to host a very special Science Quiz that has apparently been generating a lot of buzz…if you are gonna make it to this one, I suggest you get there early. Action starts at 8 p.m. sharp.

I will then keep the nerd party going with a 2nd, all new quiz at 10:15 p.m. While this one will not have any specific theme, I would expect a few questions about “Royals”, particularly crazy ones. But that’s just me. Yes, you can earn points to the JGTSpI in both. Hope to see ya tonight!
