Excited to do another movie night at Dock Street. On Sunday, February 6th at 5:30 PM, we’re going to celebrate the Super Bowl with a recent documentary. Maybe Next Year is a look at the 2017 Super Bowl run through the eyes of Eagles fans. You can watch a trailer here. We’ll also have some giveaways from Shibe Sports, a Q&A with one of the participants in the film, and some Super Bowl trivia. Quizzo starts on Monday at Loco Pez, where we’ll have $6 nachos and $5 margaritas! On to Founding Fathers on Tuesday at 8 PM. Pretty wide open, 7th Place is establishing themselves as the team to beat. Wednesday we’re at Dock Street, and then Thursday we’re off. Yup, taking the week off at Birra, as Carl and I have a big corporate gig, and you know we’ll sell out on you people for Corporate America every time! Quizzo returns there next week. After a few weeks of the website being wonky, hopefully we’re good to go now. With that being said, here are our standings after three weeks. Boyz II Menehune are in the lead, averaging over 50 points per game. No real surprises on the front end of the standings, but a few disappointments at the bottom half (you know who you are). Regardless, we’re now almost halfway done with the regular season, so better get those brains into midseason form ASAP!
A rare tripleheader on Thursday night, as Taryn hosts at Deli at Dwell, Carl returns to Birra, and JGT hosts a special quiz at Dock Street West! Taryn’s quiz will be part of a BBQ, Bourbon, and Quizzo event at Deli at Dwell, while Carl and I will be hosting at two of the great pizza spots in the city: Carl at Birra and me at Dock Street on 50th Street. (This is in addition to Wednesday’s quiz at Dock Street South at 21st.) Hope to see ya this week!

Well it’s been a crazy few weeks, with quizzes cancelled and guess hosts and omicron and the holidays and what have you, but it’s time to get back in the saddle again. We’ve got a lot going on this week. First of all, I’m excited to be back at Loco Pez tonight. Action starts at 7 PM. On to Founding Fathers on Tuesday and Dock Street Wednesday, before filling in for Carl at Birra on Thursday. Meanwhile, please note: Taryn is returning to Deli at Dwell on Thursday! They’re doing a beer tasting along with the quizzo, so should be a lot of fun. I’ll have more details soon. Of course we’re kicking off with the Winter Warz online this week as well. Hey gang, our Kickoff Classic is Thursday night at 8 PM. I’ll send out the zoom invite tomorrow morning, once we know exactly how many teams we have. In the meantime, if you’e signed up and paid half of your league dues, go ahead and sign up for your schedule here.
We’re currently at 27 teams, hoping to get to 30 or 32. If you haven’t signed up and wanna play, do so now!
Here’s our dilly-o for this week. First of all, Winter Warz signups are going on for just a few more days. We’re up to 20 teams, hoping to make it to 30. We’re doing something a little different for this one. We’re kicking off with a Royal Rumble this Thursday night. Should be a lot of fun.
As for in-person quizzo, no quiz at Loco Pez on Monday. We should be back at Loco Pez next week. Our other three quizzes are still a go. I’m still testing positive for COVID, so I’m gonna hand the reins over to Carl. I’ll be back next week with bells on…and super immunity.

It’s about that time…time for our second season of Winter Warz! Here’s how it works. There are nine games guaranteed, including something new we’re trying: our Kickoff Spectacular. The season will start on Thursday, January 6th at 8 PM, with all of our teams playing. Cash prize to the winner ($100) and the 2nd place ($50). The Kickoff Spectacular counts as the first regular season game- those who participate get to drop their lowest score for playoff seeding.The format is the one you’ve come to know and love; you and your teammates in a zoom with your quizmaster. After very heated and contentious negotiations, we’ve signed all of your favorite QMs for another season, except for Blake, whose demands of red M&Ms in his dressing room was simply more than we could handle.Dues are $425/team. First $200 is due January 6th, other $225 is due February 6th.
This will be a roto league. You won’t be going head to head, but we’ll be adding up your points each week and ranking teams by average. There will be six regular season games in addition to the Kickoff Spectacular.There will also be at least two playoff games for each team as well. (There will be a consolation game or losers bracket, depending on # of teams.) Season will conclude by March 13th at the latest. To sign up, just go to the link here.
