I admit that “Escape” has an infectious melody but the lyrics suck. The obvious O.Henry ripoff to the end of the story could be seen coming a mile away. This is from the guy (Rupert Holmes), who wrote possibly the worst song of all-time, “Timothy” by The Buoys. Check out the lyrics to that song. A song about cannibalism!!
