A couple of years after the Battle of Puebla (which Cinco de Mayo honors) the French captured Mexico City and put this man in charge. He would rule Mexico from 1864 until his abdication (and execution) in 1867. Who was he?
Great chance to get a win tonight and get your team up a few notches on the scoreboard. First up is the North Star at 7 p.m. The Little Lebowski UYrban Achievers pulled off the upset this past week, knocking off the Inkspot. Can your crew make the magic happen this week?
On to Sidecar at 9:30 p.m., where it’s really anybody’s ballgame. We’ve had 5 different winners in the past 6 weeks. I’d expect a few Mexico questions, with the Cinco de Mayo going down tomorrow.
Really excited about the band I’ve got lined up for the Invitational. The Wallace Brothers will be performing their rockabilly jams between rounds. Saw them at Bob and Barbs a few weeks ago and just knew I had to grab them for the Big Event. Great energy and a lot of fun old folk and country songs.
ANyway, the latest on the event is that it will be on May 31st. Still in talks with a couple of different venues. Hope to know something soon on that end. But you can put it down for the 31st.
Here is the latest. I have a venue and band finalized for the Big Event, just figuring out which Sunday works best for all involved. Will let you know as soon as I do, either this afternoon or Monday at the latest.

Action starts at Industry at 6:30 p.m. As always, terrific food and great beer specials. A very fun music round tonight. It’s also Dining Out for Life at Industry, so 33% of their profits for tonight will be donated to a great cause.
And of course the draft will be on, so we’ll see if we’re going to be doing a 50% off sale at the store tomorrow.
On to the Bards at 9 p.m. $3 Lagers and always a good time. Hope to see ya tonight!
Tonight’s music round is gonna be a lot of fun. Come on out if you get a shot. We start at O’Neals at 8 p.m. $3.50 margaritas and Mexican beers. On to City Tap House at 10:15 p.m. $3 Gansett pounders. Hope to see ya tonight!
Ok, so here are the scores to the JGTSpI after 7 weeks. Teams in yellow would make the cut if the season ended today and teams in blue would not. Still a lot of time left. And there’s a new Facebook challenge, which is a great way for your team to score points.
Time to admit that I’m a dum-dum. Ok, so I was saying May 24th at the Tap House previously. Probably shoulda looked at the calendar. That’s Memorial Day Weekend. No-one will be around. Unfortunately, City Tap is booked for the 17th and the 31st, so we’ll have to move elsewhere. Working on a venue and a band now, and I’ve got a cool combo in mind. Hope to have the date (either the 17th or 31st), the venue, and the lineup finalized in the next day or two, so stay tuned.
