Just a heads up that I am on vacation this week, and the Sandman is taking over. There will be only one quiz this week, so you can’t play twice.

You have no idea how happy I am to get some time away from you freak nerds much I’m going to miss you guys, but I’m going to try to have fun anyway. Sandman has plenty of experience, so I’m leaving you in good hands. Scroll down for the Question of the week, and here are the time and dates for the quiz this week. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to try to avoid thinking about trivia for a few damn days.

We kick it off at Industry at 6:30 p.m. Been a little quiet the past few weeks. A great opportunity to sneak in and get a win. As usual, $3 and $4 craft beers and delicious food. One of my favorite places to quiz.

On to Bards at 9:15. The old classic. Over 500 quizzes and still going strong. Make it happen, and be sure you have someone on your team who knows at least a little bit of contemporary music. See ya tonight!

Just cruised in to Philly, and better get my act together quick…we’ve got a tripleheader on tap. We start at the Markets at Comcast at 5:30. On to O’Neals at 8 p.m. And we wrap it up at City Tap House at 10:15. You can earn an automatic invite by winning any of these events. Hope to see ya tonight!

The action kicks off tonight at North Star at 7 p.m. Any team who finishes first this week gets an automatic invite to the Invitational (and any team that finishes 2nd gets put on  the waiting list, in case we have any openings.) Two great chances tonight, as both the North Star and Sidecar have quite a bit of parity.

After North Star at 7 p.m., we’ll move it on over to Sidecar at 9:30. I’m actually in Virginia until tomorrow, so the Sandman will be filling in. Good luck earning a spot, and teams that have yet to RSVP for the Invite, be sure to get back to me.

Here ya go, our scores with but one night left to play before the regular season ends (wild card week will be next week. More on that soon.) Teams in green have received an invite. Teams in yellow I still need to get ahold of. And teams in blue are on the bubble. (The team whose name has been replaced with a black mark will be out of town next Sunday, and therefore all mentions of them have been purged from JGT Quizzo history.) For From Parts Unknown and Hooter and Chuff, this is possibly a big night.

As for next week, that will be wild card week. Any team that wins next week will earn an automatic invite to the Big Event, held Sunday, August 16th at the Urban Saloon at 5:30 p.m.

Action begins at O’Neals at 8 p.m. The Sandman hosts, as I’m headed down to the ballpark to see Jimmy Rollins first game back. He was my favorite player during the team’s 2007-2011 run, so I’m excited to be there for the return. First time I’ve ever paid hookie for a baseball game, but it’s one I really want to be a part of.

The Sandman is in charge at O’Neals and will do a good job. The wild card round is on robots. Since Philly kills them.

I will be there for City Tap House quiz tonight. Gonna leave the game early so we can make it happen. I believe we will be al fresco tonight, as it looks like a beautiful night. Hope to see ya tonight!

In 6 quizzes we’ve raised over $1000 for The Dude Hates Cancer. Really honored to be part of such a giving community. So far O’Neals has been the most generous, with $200 raised. Can the Industry or Bards top them tonight?

We start at Industry at 6:30 p.m. We were rocking and rolling last week, let’s keep the party going this week as well. As always, terrific food and excellent craft beer specials. And probably our most winnable quiz, with a new team taking the title nearly every week.

On to Bards at 9:15 p.m. $3 Lagers and assorted nonsense.
