I have to admit, I’ve been a little disappointed in how many people have sent in questions so far for you make the questions week. I thought everybody had a favorite quiz question, and people always come up to me and ask me some. Well, you’ve got until 11:59 p.m. tonight to send me your question(s). Keep in mind, too, if I use your question, and your team plays, you’re gonna score extra points. Click here to send me your questions.

Quizzo Tonight
Two blowouts on Tuesday, two nailbiters yesterday. It’ll be interesting to see what happens tonight.
We kick off at the Good Dog at 8 p.m., where the winning score is usually like a 47, so if you want to win JGT quizzo, this is the place to play.
Rumor has it that the Sofa Kingdom may not be making it to the Bards tonight, so it looks like the field is wide open for a new winner. Action starts at 10:15. Hope to see you tonight.
Round Two Complete, We Have a Tie!
After Day 1, it looked like Bill had it wrapped up. But William made a startling comeback to pull off an incredible 149-149 tie in Round Two of the Alf Landon Bad Writing Competition. So both men advance to the finals! In fact, I have decided that the top 5 finishers overall will advance to the finals, so I will be adding a wild card. As of right now, Julie is in position to advance, unless two competitors in our final round get more than 14 votes. Voting for the final round will begin shortly.
Read Some Fitzgerald on his birthday
![]()
The greatest American writer of the 20th century and possibly ever is celebrating his 112th birthday today, so why no celebrate by reading a couple of his classic short stories. Here are a few of my favorites:
- The Ice Palace.
- The Cut Glass Bowl.
- Bernice Bobs Her Hair.
- Or maybe just take a few minutes to read the first chapter of the great american novel, The Great Gatsby.
You Make the Quiz Week!
![]()
For a man of leisure, I’ve been doing way too much work lately, so I’ve decided to do the first ever You Make the Quiz week! It’s as simple as it sounds. You send me questions (and answers, preferably right answers) by this coming Monday, I ask ’em at next weeks quizzo. And yes, I will give you credit if I use your question. In fact, if you attend one of the quizzos next week, you are welcome to ask your own question. Just send your questions to johnnygoodtimes@hotmail.com, and I will use the best ones next week. You are welcome to send me one question, or as many as you like. Also feel free also to send me ideas for a 50/50 round or a wild card round. Please get your questions in by Monday, September 29th at 11:59 p.m..
Pics of last week’s winners
Alright gang, gonna post photos of the winners of last week’s quizzo. Underneath each pic will be a question about something that happened on this day in history (September 22). One guess per person.
Match of the Week
![]()
A comeback at O’Neals and the Jams get back on track at the Vous. A new winner at the Sheep, scores stay low at the Good Dog, and the Hurtin Bombs pull away on Thursday. Scoreboard coming soon. But our match of the week was Tuesday at the Bards, as the Sofa Kingdom and the Western Omelette finished in a tie with 109. So it came down to this: Adrian Peterson leads the NFL in rushing. How many yards does he have? The Omelette guessed 274, the Kingdom guessed 255, and the answer was 263, so the Kingdom walked away with the title by a mere 3 yards.
JGT in Comedy Show tonight
![]()
Yes, I know the Eagles are playing the Cowboys. Yes, I know that probably no-one will show up. But the hell with it. I haven’t done stand up in a while and need to get my chops back. So if anyone wants to see me fail miserably, then be at the Khyber tonight at 8:00 p.m. If you tell me you came after seeing this on my site I will buy you a beer. $5 to get in and beers are dirt cheap. And after my little run in with Hipster Nation last week, I might even get a few hecklers. We’ll be done by 10, so you will not miss the 2nd half of the game (And that’s the only one that matters anyway.) I think I might go down to Nick’s Roast Beef to catch the 2nd half. Chip is hosting the show and two of my favorite comedians in Philly, Dennis Horan and Amir Gollan, are in the starting lineup. Hope to see you there.
Alf Landon Bad Writing Contest Deadline Today!

The Deadline for the First Annual Alf Landon Bad Writing Contest is today at 11:59 p.m. Be sure to get your entries in by then! I’ve gotten some great ones so far, and I’d love to get a few more. Winner gets two tix to the Academy of Natural Sciences and a $20 gift certificate to the Bards. Send your entries in by emailing them to me. I won’t add your email address to my mailing list (unless you want me to.) I’m way too lazy for that. By the way, I just thought of a new one:
Landon, light of my life, fire of my loins.
