Food and Drink Week Returns

One of our most popular weeks returns, as we’re going to gorge ourselves on food and drink knowledge. From Julia Childs to julienning, from Kool-Aid to Cristal, we’re gonna cover all the bases this week at quizzo. We’ll quiz on the food network, cooking techniques, and as one notable game show calls it, “potent potables”. Action starts at O’Neals at 8 p.m. and moves to City Tap House at 10:15 p.m. See ya tonight!

All New Film and Television Quiz Tonight

Yeah, the first half of the week quiz was pretty damn hard. I’ll admit it. Might pull back the reins just a touch tonight. Not too much though. The speed round will be a bit easier. All TV and movie questions.

We start at Ugly American at 8 p.m. $2 Lagers and $3 Fries. Things are wide open. 5 different winners in the past 6 weeks. On to the Bards, where Steak Em Up has been frantically fighting off a couple of teams trying to take their throne. Things have been crazy last few weeks. Will the craziness continue tonight? Action starts at 10:15 p.m. $3 fries and $2.50 Lager Lights.

Film and TV Quizzo Tonight

Things have been rocking lately. Last night was the busiest we’ve been at O’Neals in months. And it was awesome  to see the Savage Ear back in the house. It turned out that the movie mix and match round was pretty damn hard, the TV wild card round sort of so-so, but parts of it pretty damn hilarious. (I am dying to show these clips on the site tomorrow.) Anyways, action starts at Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m. and moves to Black Sheep at 8 p.m. Hope to see ya there!

TV and Movie Week

After the week of sheer insanity that was “2000s Week”, we’ll see if things come back down to earth this week with TV and Movie Week. Of course, this covers a ton of ground, from the Lumiere Brothers to Paranormal Activity 3, from Vladimir Zworkyin to 3 1/2 Men. So it should be interesting to see how it shakes out. Action starts at O’Neals tonight at 8 p.m. We move to City Tap House at 10:15 p.m. $50 gift certificate for the winner at O’Neals, and definitely the best place to get a win right now. $100 gift certificate for the winners at City tap House. Hope to see ya tonight!

9th Annual Halloween Spooktacular Halloween Night!

One night only, JGT is bustin out his annual Halloween spooktacular, the oldest tradition in the JGT empire. It’s gonna be at North Star bar on Halloween night, October 31st. If you want to play, and still want to play later in the week, feel free. All questions will be about demons, murder, and mayhem. And of course as always a few about Edgar Allan Poe. Hope to see ya at the North Star at 7 p.m. Gonna be a fun way to spend Halloween without almost getting your ass kicked by a bunch of douchebags dressed up like a SWAT team.

Good News/Bad News

The good news is that we quite possibly just had our wildest week of quizzo ever. I don’t ever remember every single top team at every single bar losing on the same week, and we’ve definitely never had this many teams who have played for a while and never won before all win on the same week. Add to that that every bar was packed and it was honestly one of the best weeks of quizzo I can ever remember hosting.

The bad news is that I upgraded my phone on Thursday, and when I did so, it somehow erased my photos from Tuesday and Wednesday. Yeah, I’m a jerk. However, as long as your team shows up at quizzo next week I will get your photo and post it on the site. I promise. Furthermore, your team will be included in the power rankings this week. So sorry about the screw up. Thanks -jgt

Is This the Worst Song in the History of Music?

This week’s question of the week was, WHat group had an album called “I’m Not a Fan But the Kids Like It”? The answer was Brokencyde. They are above. Now before you watch this, a word of caution: Once you watch it, you can’t unwatch it. It will take a up a small sliver of your brain forever. And make no mistake: listening to this song will make your life worse. Not a lot worse, but it is worth noting before you watch. I’ve head Celine Dion, I’ve heard Nick Lachey, and I’ve heard Creed. Hell, I’ve even heard Aqua. And this is, improbably, worse than all of them.

All-New 2000s Quiz Tonight!

It’s been a wild week, with upsets every step of the way. Three teams so far this week have gotten their first ever JGT quizzo win. I don’t ever remember this many upsets in a week. Can it continue tonight? We’ll find out at the Ugly American at 8 p.m. ($2 lagers, $3 fries) and the Bards at 10:15 p.m. ($2.50 Lager Light bottles, $3 fries). All new questions inspired by the decade from 2000-2009. Hope to see ya there!

2000s Quiz Tonight

Ah, the 2000s. What a decade it was. No wars, a great economy, and great music. No, wait. Nevermind. That was the 50s. The 2000s were filled with 2 wars, a disastrous economy, and some of the worst music ever created by mankind. Well this week’s quiz will be about the 2000s anyway. From baseball to boy bands, I’m gonna ask questions about it all. Action starts at the Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m. and goes to the Black Sheep at 8 p.m. Hope to see you there.
