Quizzo Tripleheader Tonight

Philadelphia’s only true man of leisure is going to try to do the impossible today…he’s going to try to pull off a 6-hour work day! That’s right, while you’re celebrating Turkey Eve, he’ll be grinding away in the salt mines. The things he does for you people!

Pretty tough quiz tonight, but a fun one, with one round dedicated to the big holiday. We start at Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m. $3 Leinenkugel’s and $2 Lion’s Head bottles. On to the Black Sheep at 8 p.m. We wrap it up at Bards at 10:15 p.m. $3 Lager Lights. And Steak Em Up and Philliez Nutz both played last night, so we are guaranteed to have an all-new winner at the Bards. Hope to see you tonight!

Bards Quiz on Wednesday This Week

Due to the holiday, we’re going to slightly tweak things this week. Nothing drastic,  just moving Bards quizzo up to Wednesday night, while we’re taking a week off at the Ugly. Here’s the schedule:

TUESDAY

  • O’NEALS 8 P.M.
  • CITY TAP HOUSE 10:15 P.M.

WEDNESDAY

  • LOCUST RENDEZVOUS 6:15 P.M.
  • BLACK SHEEP 8 P.M.
  • BARDS 10:15 P.M.

Hope to see ya this week! And yes, there will be a Thanksgiving themed round, though the whole quiz will not be about Turkey Day.

Great Prizes, Food and Drink Specials at Quizzo Tonight

No nights off for this quizmaster. A mere 24 hours after the JGTAI, he’s back in action again. How does he do it?  2 quizzes in 24 hours? Does the man sleep? Is he some sort of machine? Yes, and a well oiled one, at that. Action starts at 7 p.m. at North Star. Half-off of homeade hummus and mussels, and $3 Kenzinger drafts. Plus we’ve got no frontrunning teams. Things there are still wide open. And if you’re coming from Center City and beyond, no worries…the North Star has free parking. Hope to see ya tonight!

Lineup for Autumn Invitational (Updated on Saturday)

Here’s how it stacks up for Sunday’s Invitational. This is what I believe is the final roster. If your team earned an invite and is playing and isn’t listed below, give me a heads up. (johnny@johnnygoodtimes.com) The event is going down this Sunday at City Tap House at 5 p.m., is $10 a pop, and will feature performances from the incredible Blackbird Society Orchestra. (I know we have a few smaller teams, so if you’ve got 5 or less, just be prepared to add a couple of teammates. All of these teams are pretty good, so it should only make your team better.)

  • Ruby Tuesday
  • Steak Em Up
  • What’s Good for the Puma
  • L. Ron Hubbard’s Diabetics
  • Popesack
  • Mysterous Mr. Mapother
  • The Champs
  • Slutty Muggles
  • Some Douche Stole My Bike
  • Madame Butterface
  • Why Can’t Us
  • Philliez Nutz
  • Missing Heads
  • Specific Jawns
  • Do It Live
  • Mister Lippers
  • Honey Badgers
  • Upside Down Smile

Wild Card Week Continues Tonight

Well, we had two teams earn their wild card passes with wins last night. Any team that finishes in the Top 2 this week gets an automatic invite. It’s gonna be a great event…this Sunday at 5 p.m. at City Tap House. Going to be a great show. Hope you can make it. Action starts tonight at Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m. $3 Shock Tops and $2 Rolling Rocks. We move to Black Sheep at 8 p.m. Different beer special every week. Hope to see ya tonight!

Wild Card Week Continues Tonight

No wild card winners last night, though a couple of teams came close. An all-new quiz tonight. A good old fashioned quizzo….no specific themes. Action starts at O’Neals at 8:00 p.m. We’ve been rocking there the past few weeks. Been a lot of fun. On to City Tap House at 10:15 p.m. $100 gift certificate for the winners and $3 Sly Fox. Hope to see ya tonight!

All New Food and Drink Quiz Tonight

An interesting quiz so far this week. The “Cheese Round” had a lot of fans and just as many haters.  We’ll see how folks do tonight with an all-new quiz. And remember, this is the last quiz before JGTAI invites go out. If you want to participate in the quizzo event of the season, I highly suggest you play tonight. Your best bet for a win? The Ugly American, where the action will begin at 8 p.m. $2 Lagers and $3 Kenzingers. We move to the Bards, who also have $3 fries. Kickoff is 10:15 p.m. Hope to see ya tonight!
