Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the Invitational (But Wish I’d Told You Two Months Ago)

WHO: You, me and a bunch of other nerds.

WHAT: The 3rd Annual Johnny Goodtimes Spring Invitational

WHEN: Sunday at 6 p.m.

WHERE: City Tap House (3925 Walnut Street).

WHY: Why not?

SO WHAT’S THE DEAL? It’s our semi-annual invitational where our regulars from different bars all come together to complain about Steak Em Up enjoy the fellowship of their fellow nerds from different bars across the city. We’ll get together, have a few beers, eat a few pizzas, share a few laughs, answer a few questions, and then discuss how much we loathe Steak Em Up enjoyed the musical duo.

DID YOU SAY LIVE MUSIC? Yes, I did. Ali Wadsworth and Joe Bisirri will be cranking out the tunes and helping us out a bit with the musical round. You can listen to Ali above or check out this article about her in Philly Weekly.

$10 TO ANSWER QUESTIONS IN A TRIVIA SETTING? IT SEEMS LIKE KIND OF A SCAM. Some of that money will go towards the band and some of it will go toward the prizes. And also I had to cancel quizzo at the Bards Thursday because we were so slow and so I need to make some money on Sunday or I’m never going to be able to get those snow tires I’ve had my eyes on. And we’ll make it up to ya with killer drink specials and fun times that are funny.
WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH THE WEATHER? As of now, it’s a 50% chance of rain. When they give a 50% chance of rain, it means they have no idea what they’re talking about and are just flipping a coin. The weather will be fine. But, if it’s not, we’ll just move the party indoors and blame the rain on Steak Em Up Milli Vanilli.

I THOUGHT THEY CHANGED THEIR NAME TO JESTERS OF TORTUGA. They haven’t earned enough enmity under the new name.

ARE THERE PRIZES AND S***? Yes, prizes for the winners, 2nd, 3rd, and a bonus prize for kicking Nate in the shins our Top 10 drawing.

HAVE ALL THE TEAMS RSVP’D? No, here is the RSVP list. Teams in red have RSVP’D. Teams in black said no and we have therefore eliminated them from existence. Teams in green still need to RSVP if they want to play. Those teams are:

Shoot me a line if you’re on one of those teams and want to play. (johnny @ johnnygoodtimes.com)
