Tripleheader Tonight

Action kicks off at Industry at 6:30 p.m. It’s not a terribly tough quiz this week, and there are no heavy favorites at the Industry, so it’s anybody’s ballgame. There are also some great specials: Two $3 local draughts for quizzo. Happy hour until 7 pm with buck a shuck oysters, mac n cheese croquettes, $3 local beers $4 house red & white wine, and $5 select cocktails.
On to Birra at 8 p.m. with Carl B Sure. $1 off bottles and cans and $5 bar snacks. And we wrap it up at Bards at 9:15 p.m. Hope to see ya tonight!
Quizzo Tonight
You know what it is. Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m. where the #1 Government Team Competitor will be looking to defend the title. On to Founding Fathers at 8:30, where the always formidable Duane’s World escaped with a 1 point win last week. Can you hold them off? See ya tonight!
Question of the Week
Quizzo Tonight
A tripleheader tonight, folks, with no dominant teams at any of tonight’s venues, meaning victory is yours for the taking. We kick it off at Industry at 6:30 p.m. Two $3 local draughts for quizzo. Happy hour until 7pm with buck a shuck oysters, $3 local beers, $4 house wine, and $5 select cocktails. On to Birra at 8 p.m. with Carl B Sure. $1 off bottles and cans and $5 bar snacks. And we wrap it up at Bards at 9:15 p.m. $3 Lagers. Wild card round theme is Pacific Northwest. Hope to see ya tonight!
A Few Changes On the Way
Alright, now that we’ve gotten through Quizzo Bowl (which, unlike the Oscars, is a gala event that announces the correct winners), it’s time to make a few changes. The reason for these are several: for one, I’m taking on more work and more responsibility at the store, so I need to make time for that. Secondly, I’m getting more corporate gigs, and as you all know selling out to the man is what I’m all about. Finally and most importantly, I want another night to spend at home with my family, and this allows me to do so. (Over/under is a month after starting this schedule before my wife asks me to spend less time at home).
So here we go: starting next week, I will be moving Sidecar to Tuesdays at 8 p.m., and Carl will take over at O’Neals. For those of you who are unaware, Carl is already hosting at Birra on Thursdays at 8. (I’ll post the new schedule below). So we’ll still be rocking 8 JGT quizzes.
There will also typically be only one quiz written a week, starting next week. Occasionally, if 2-3 teams all request two quizzes and say they’re gonna play twice, we can break that rule. But 99.9% of teams play once a week, so this won’t be a change for just about anybody. But I just want to make sure it’s known.
As far as pics and scores, yes, I was a total slacker in the weeks leading up to Quizzo Bowl. I’m gonna do a huge photo dump on the Facebook page this week. Moving forward, there will be a bit more immediacy to the pics…I’ll be posting on twitter as soon as the game is over. You can follow me on twitter here. And yes, I know not everyone is on twitter. So don’t worry, Question of the Week will remain here on the website. Full schedule is below, starting next week. I will be hosting at O’Neals tonight:
TUESDAY
- 8 p.m. O’Neals (w/ Carl)
- 8 p.m. Sidecar
- 10:15 p.m. City Tap House
WEDNESDAY
- 6:15 p.m. Locust Rendezvous
- 8:30 p.m. Founding Fathers
THURSDAY
- 6:30 p.m. Industry
- 8 p.m. Birra (with Carl)
- 9:15 p.m. Bards
Sidecar Quizzo Tonight
Alright, we’ll be back in business at Sidecar tonight. Action starts at 9:30. But heads up: next week we’ll be moving the Sidecar quiz to Tuesday. I’ll have some more details about a few changes in the schedule tomorrow. See ya tonight!
