JGTs Latest Adventures in Podcasting

thisweek

Here’s the latest episode, and it’s very funny. We discuss Hillary and Donald Trump undergoing a Trial by Fire, we use the word “defenestration” as much as humanly possible, and we get in a huge argument over whether it’s considered cheating if you make out with someone in a different decade after traveling through time. And if you haven’t listened yet, you may want to check out last week’s episode, where Marilyn Monroe sings “Happy Birthday” to Nat the Truth at Madison Square Garden, and Nat’s wife isn’t invited to the party.

And Sixers fans, should the Sixers draft Simmons or Brandon Ingram? Should they trade Nerlens Noel or Jahlil Okafor? And which is a bigger violation at a baseball game: cowboy boots or flip flops? We discuss on the latest Jawnville podcast.

Saturday is Didi Day at Shibe Sports

tommyandme

Ray Didinger has been such a great friend to the store in our first couple of years that we wanted to pay it back. So this Saturday is Didi Day at the store, with 40% of all in store proceeds going toward the production of Didi’s new play, Tommy and Me, a play he wrote about his lifelong friendship with Eagles great Tommy McDonald. I love it when a brilliant guy like Didinger decides to go out of his wheelhouse and tackle something new (In this case playwriting), and I’m really excited to see the final product.

The best news for you as a fan is that Didinger will be in the store on Saturday at 4 p.m. to discuss his play and his thoughts on last week’s draft. Wanna hear what one of the best sports writers in America thinks about Carson Wentz and the Eagles decision to trade that many draft picks? Be sure to come by the store on Saturday. For those of you who have come by to see him before, you know what a cool experience it is and what a terrific speaker he is. If you haven’t, and you’re a football fan, you really owe it to yourself to do so. Just a really neat and intimate experience. Hope to see you Saturday!

Updated JGTSpI Scores

springvite

Here you go. You’ve got one last week to score some points, so you better make it happen ASAP. Teams in yellow would make the cut if the season ended today. Teams in blue are right on the bubble. Teams in green might want to start making things happen. Also worth noting, last nights results at Sidecar are not included here.

Be sure to check the scores…some teams changed team names and there is a chance I missed a team somewhere, so want to make sure we get these right. I know I forgot to include Alla Spina a couple of times in scores but I did get those wins in the standings.

There is a new facebook challenge up…post a pic of yourself as a teenager and you earn your team a point. (These should be quite amusing).

As for the event itself, as stated earlier, it will be held outdoors at Lo Spiedo, which is at the Navy Yard. Very cool space. I’ll send out invites this weekend.

The Latest on the Podcast

thisweek

We just released a new podcast yesterday, and it’s quite amusing, if I say so myself. Would you fight a dragon in exchange for eternal fame? What kind of gift would you get for Hitler’s 50th birthday party? And would you let Suge Knight babysit your kid?

We’ve had a few really good ones lately. We also had a pretty great discussion last week of how our wives would have reacted if we had demanded a Satanic wedding. And two weeks ago we talked about a urologist who gave a very unusual demonstration at a urology convention that’s pretty remarkable.
