Quizzo Tonight
We kick it off at Industry at 6:30 p.m. where we’ve been packed every week except when I’m waiting tables. I’m not waiting tables tonight! So you should come on out.
On to the Bards at 9:15 p.m. We’ve gotten the audio kinks worked out, and can now be heard throughout the bar. Which is good, because the crowds have been nuts lately. Get there early to reserve yourself a good seat.
And yes, I will have Quizzo Bowl tickets on me. See ya tonight!
Get Your Quizzo Bowl Tickets Now! (It’s Gonna Sell Out Soon)
Hey gang, we’re about halfway to a sellout, and I know a lot of teams haven’t bought their tickets yet. So, if you’re planning on going, get your tix ASAP! It looks like it will be sold out in a few days. I will have tickets on me tonight at quizzo, so you’ll have a chance to get some then. Otherwise, you can purchase them here online (there is a $5 service fee online). After that, it’s every man for himself. No guarantees I’ll have any left by next week. Just want to be sure you guys know to get them now, before it’s too late.
And if you have a team of 5 or less, please let me know, because we are gonna consolidate smaller teams to make room for as many folks as possible. I’ve also created a post on the Quizzo Bowl facebook page so that smaller teams can try to team up beforehand.
Quizzo Bowl Tickets on Sale Tonight
Action starts at the Vous at 6:15 p.m. On to Black Sheep at 8:15 p.m. It’s our annual Valentine’s Day Massacre, so I’d expect questions on love, sex, breakups, massacres, and utter devastation. You know, the stuff that makes love so MAGICAL.
And yes, I will have Quizzo Bowl tickets on me for sale. They are starting to move, so I wouldn’t wait too much longer. And if you haven’t already, be sure to join us on the Quizzo Bowl facebook page. Plenty of updates for the big event in the next ten days.
Tripleheader Tonight, Starting at Market at Comcast
We kick off our monthly quiz at the Markets at Comcast at 5:30 p.m. It’s BYO, and everyone who plays gets a $5 voucher to buy food with at the shops. It’s a terrific deal and a fun quiz.
On to O’Neals at 8 p.m. Had to miss last week, so it’ll be good to get back in the saddle. And you can get the $100 gift card again, though this time the baseline is 105 points (and winning) since last week three teams got to 100.
On to Tap House at 10:15 p.m. Just a heads up: I think it’s gonna be packed. There is gonna be a Vagina Monologues fundraiser with the quiz, and we’re expecting a big turnout for that. SO get their a bit early to claim your seat.
No Question of the Week This Week
I was travelling all day yesterday after our strange and wonderful trip to New Mexico, and wasn’t able to get a question of the week posted. We’ll have one again next week.
Quizzo Tonight
Quizzo is on for tonight. The Sandman will be filling in at both North Star and Sidecar. Thanks to waiting a little too late to get my return flight from Albuquerque to Philly, I now have to fly to NYC and get a train down. Gonna be a lot of fun. Action starts at 7 p.m. at North Star and moves to Sidecar at 9:30 p.m. ANd it’s time for our annual valentine’s Day massacre. So expect lots of bad love songs and celebrity breakups this week.
Also, keep in mind that quizzo returns to the Markets at Comcast on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
And congrats to the nerds from Jesters of Tortuga. They won their second Geek Bowl. You’ll have your chance to knock them off in less than two weeks at Quizzo Bowl! I’ll have tickets on me this week.
Geek Bowl Smack Talk and Quizzo Tonight
Well, I’m off to Albuquerque for Geek Bowl IX, the 2nd most prestigious Quiz Bowl in America. (First I’m going to Denver, then taking a bus down to the ABQ. I’m hosting quizzo on the bus.) I’m actually teaming up with a couple who used to play at North Star and have since moved to Denver at the Geek Bowl. Of course, Philly also has our “A” team going, the one that won a couple of years ago. Then on Sunday we’re headed to Santa Fe because that’s the “cool” New Mexico city.
So the Sandman is hosting tonight and on Monday (Thanks to waiting until the last minute, I’ve gotta fly into NYC Monday night and take the train down.) Pretty interesting music round tonight. Action starts at 6:30 at Industry and moves to 9 p.m. at Bards. Wish us luck in New Mexico. If you’re interested in how Philly does at Geek Bowl, I’ll keep you guys updated on twitter on Saturday. And if you haven’t already, be sure to join our Quizzo Bowl page on facebook. Posting regular updates there.
