Change of Venue for JGTSpI

place_4234I’m going to send out a message to all the teams to make sure everyone knows, but in the meantime I’m posting it here. There has been a venue change for the JGTSpI on Sunday. Sadly, the weather is not cooperating. With 59 degrees I thought we’d be OK, but 59 degrees with 20 mile an hour winds on the water sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. A tough situation, but fortunately, our friends at the Field House were able to fit us in. So the event will be at the Field House, same time, 5:30 p.m. Same prizes, same band, and the best news is that we can now fit more people. So a couple of bubble teams will get in as well. They always take good care of us so I’m sure there will be some food and drink specials. Hope to see you there!

Final JGTSpI Scores

Here they are. If you’re in the yellow, congrats, your team made the cut! If you’re in blue, you’re on the bubble and might get an invite if anyone else cancels. And if you didn’t make the cut, there’s still hope: this is wild card week, so any team that wins this week gets an automatic invite.

All invites will be sent out tomorrow. The event takes place this Sunday at Lo Spiedo at 5:30 p.m.

JGT To Host on WIP Tonight

94wip

I will be a guest host on WIP 94.1 tonight at 10 p.m. If you’ve ever played quizzo and thought, “if only this guy would stop asking trivia questions and start talking about Sam Bradford’s holdout, that would be awesome”, well tonight’s the night! You can listen on air or you can listen online here. Gonna be on from 10 PM to 2 AM. There is still quizzo tonight: Chip Chantry will be hosting at Sidecar tonight. So come on by the Sidecar, then tune into 94.1. Got a lot of fun things to talk about, and some great interviews. Gonna talk to Bryan Arman Graham of the Guardian about chasing down Julio Franco, Art from Foobooz to talk about cheesesteaks, and Ian Riccaboni talks about his new book, The 100 Greatest Phillies of All Time.

Saturday is Didi Day at Shibe Sports

tommyandme

Ray Didinger has been such a great friend to the store in our first couple of years that we wanted to pay it back. So this Saturday is Didi Day at the store, with 40% of all in store proceeds going toward the production of Didi’s new play, Tommy and Me, a play he wrote about his lifelong friendship with Eagles great Tommy McDonald. I love it when a brilliant guy like Didinger decides to go out of his wheelhouse and tackle something new (In this case playwriting), and I’m really excited to see the final product.

The best news for you as a fan is that Didinger will be in the store on Saturday at 4 p.m. to discuss his play and his thoughts on last week’s draft. Wanna hear what one of the best sports writers in America thinks about Carson Wentz and the Eagles decision to trade that many draft picks? Be sure to come by the store on Saturday. For those of you who have come by to see him before, you know what a cool experience it is and what a terrific speaker he is. If you haven’t, and you’re a football fan, you really owe it to yourself to do so. Just a really neat and intimate experience. Hope to see you Saturday!
