Quizzo Tonight

unnamed

A great opportunity to record a win tonight, as things are pretty wide open at both Industry and Bards. We’ve had 4 different winners the past 4 weeks at Industry, so it’s anybody’s ballgame. Same holds true at Bards, as we’ve had 5 different winners in the past 6 weeks. So if you’re looking to gain JGTSI points, this is a great night to do it. Action at Industry starts at 6:30. We start at Bards at 9:15. Hope to see you tonight!

JGTSI Notes and Last Week’s Scores

summerinvite2015

Hey gang, I driving all over the East Coast last week and really focused on our Anniversary when I wasn’t driving, so I’ve gotten a bit backed up on JGTSI scores and pics of last week’s winners. I’ll have some time tomorrow to get caught up and should have all of that stuff posted by Friday.

The Big Event is tentatively scheduled for August 16th. I’ll let you know when I have some more details. Working on a venue now, and hope to have my band lined up soon.

A great way to earn points in the JGTSI would be to attend our events this weekend. Everyone who attends an event earns a point for their team. Attend more than one event, earn more than one point. It’s going to be a terrific weekend of events, so I don’t mind bribing you to get you there.

O’Neals and City Tap House: Now With Modern Cooled Air!

Oh sure, it may be steaming hot outdoors, but thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we will be cool as a cucumber indoors! So come join us at O’Neals at 8 p.m.,  where you have a terrific opportunity to earn JGTSI points and enjoy ice cold margaritas.

On to City Tap House at 10:15 p.m. There’s a chance of a thunderstorm tonight, so we’ll have to wait and see before we decide whether to take the party outside this week. (Obviously, if there’s a thunderstorm, we’ll want to play outside in the elements. Adds to the drama! It’s like The Notebook!) So make it happen tonight. Let’s go!

One Year Anniversary at Shibe Next Weekend!

Screen shot 2015-07-03 at 8.46.00 AM

We’ll be celebrating our one year anniversary at the store next weekend, and we’ve got an All-Star lineup. We’ll start with 1952 American League MVP Bobby Shantz. With a name like Shibe Sports, I figured we needed to bring a member of the Philadelphia A’s in at some point. You can bring your own thing in to be signed, or we’ll have baseballs and photos available to purchase.

On Saturday, we’ve got Ray Didinger and Glen Macnow at the store at 2 p.m. to talk sports and sign copies of their book, The Ultimate Guide to Sports Movies. When they wrap up, author and history professor Bruce Kuklick will take the stage. He’ll be discussing the history of beer at the ballpark in Philadelphia, and we’ll have FREE BEER to all who attend, provided by our good friends at Ommegang.

On Sunday we’ll have our closing party at McGillin’s Old Ale House. Not only will we be unveiling our new limited edition McGillin’s shirt, but bar owner Chris Mullin will be talking a bit about the history of Philadelphia oldest bar, and we’ll discuss some of the incredible memorabilia on their walls.

RSVP for the event here. Not only do I hope you make it, but each player who attends an event earns his quizzo team 2 points in the JGTSI!

Score Bonus Points in the JGTSI

An opportunity to score some bonus points in the JGTSI this weekend. Just post a pic of yourself wearing red, white and blue (like the gentleman in the photo above) on the Facebook page by Tuesday.

There will be another opportunity to earn points next week as well…just show up for one of the events at our anniversary party at the store next weekend and you’ll earn your team 2 points. I’ll have more details in the coming week.

Hope everybody has a great holiday weekend. Gonna try to get scores up on Friday, but if not they’ll be up early next week.

Quizzo Tonight

Let’s face it, you’re not getting anything done tomorrow at work so might as well get the holiday started off on the right foot with a little quizzo tonight. We kick it off at Industry at 6:30. A great opportunity for a win, and terrific food, great beer specials, and excellent service to boot.

On to Bards at 9 p.m. You know the deal. It’s anybody’s ballgame, with all of the top teams playing last night, so if you and your crew can get it together you could be rewarded with a big win. Expect some New England questions, as I just spent 5 hellish days driving nonstop through there with a toddler.

Quizzo Tonight

Action begins at Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m. Solid competition, but a little slow lately so now’s the time to sneak in and get your team a few points. On to Founding Fathers at 8:30. We’re always rockin’ and rollin’ there. Competition is fierce, but there is of course the coveted 7th place prize. I’ve spent the past few days up North, so I’d expect tonight’s quiz to have a bit of a New England flavor. See ya tonight!

Quizzo Tonight

Quizzo at O’Neals is cancelled tonight for the soccer match, so we start at the Tap House at 10:15 p.m. The Sandman will host, and it’s Howie’s last quiz. So bummed I’m not gonna be there. He’s one of my favorite bar guys I’ve ever worked with. $100 gift cert for winners, $50 for 2nd. Be sure to bring your ace squad. Hope you can make it.
