Fred Moobs (O’Neals) showed up with 3 players. In the Lead (Sidecar) arrived with 5. In an effort to save space, since the City Tap House was so packed, I thought it prudent to combine the two teams. It worked out quite well for them, as two teams who had previously never played together joined forces and knocked off Duane’s World at the 6th Annual City Tap House Autumn Invitational. It was a raucous event, as every seat in the back area was filled, and the John Train Band put on a hell of a show. The fill in the blank round (80s Don Draper) was met with mixed reviews, though Johnny’s rap performance during the music round was hailed by all as “genius” and “strangely uplifting”. And while Johnny promised to post everyone’s scores, that was a lie, because the Lovely Cookie apparently threw them away before I could do so. If she ever divorces me, I have a feeling “quizzo scoresheets lying around the house” will feature prominently in the proceedings, so let’s just let that sleeping dog, lie, shall we?
Anyways, thanks to everyone for coming out and for playing throughout the fall. There is no winter invitational, since the Grandaddy of them All, Quizzo Bowl XII, will be held on February 6th and you won’t need an invite for that one. But I’ll try to get back to posting power rankings in the coming weeks.
