The War on Christmas continues tonight at O’Neals, Alla Spina, and City Tap House. A quiz that is loosely based on the season. Action kicks off at O’Neals at 8 p.m. $50 gift cert for the winners, $100 if you can crack 120 points. Finally, we wrap up with our final 2016 quiz at City Tap House (we’ll take a couple of weeks off while the kids are on vacation). Action starts at 10:30. We’ll also be doing a 50/50 raffle for our annual Christmas fundraiser. Hope to see ya tonight!

This year at the holiday season, we’re trying to raise money for a local family who could certainly use a little help. I’ve created a Gofundme page and will also be asking for donations at quizzo. Our donations will go towards helping the Walker family move into an apartment so that they can stay together (they are currently housed separately in emergency shelters).

I know many of you have already donated toys to our annual toy drive (Thank you so much!), but the response was so overwhelming that I’ve had numerous people ask me since who didn’t get to help with the toy drive how they could help this holiday season, and this would be a great way to do so. The father works two jobs but simply cannot raise the money to afford first, last, and security on a new apartment, so let’s help him out. Cheri Honkala of the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign speaks very highly of this family and I think it would be really wonderful if we could make this the holiday they found a place to call home. All proceeds (other than administrative costs to Gofundme) will go to the Walker family. Like I said, I’ll accept donations at quizzo or you can donate at GoFundMe. Thanks!

One of the best baseball writers in America, Jayson Stark is making his 3rd annual appearance at Shibe Sports on Tuesday at 6 p.m. If you’re a baseball fan, do NOT miss this. This is his 3rd annual appearance and the first two were both terrific. He just got back from winter meetings, so he’ll have a lot to talk about: the Sale trade, what’s next for McCutcheon, and what the Phillies plans are moving forward.
