Quizzo Tonight
Let’s ring in the New Year’s with a look back at 2011. This is the year in review quiz that I did only at Ugly American. So as long as you played anywhere else last week, you can play again tonight. Action starts at 7 p.m.
Hulk Hogan in Blake Thorne…in Santa With Muscles
A question at quizzo this week was, “What wrestler starred in the 1996 classic Santa With Muscles?” Here is the proof that this film exists. Wow.

It’s a Wonderful Quiz Tonight
Our final night of It’s a Wonderful Quiz Week. This year’s quiz has proven to be a doozy. Tough music round, a fairly easy movie round, and a so-so impossible round. We start tonight at Ugly American at 8 p.m. $1 corn dogs, $2 Lagers, and $3 Fries. On to the Bards at 10:15, where we’ll have $3 fries and $2.50 beers. So come on out, have some holiday cheer, and see how much you know about the season. I’ll be once again wearing my Christmas finest.
It’s a Wonderful Life Facts
For all of you fellow It’s a Wonderful Life freaks out there, I dredged up some pretty cool stuff about the stars of the movie and some facts about the best Christmas film ever. Here are ten fun facts about the film you may not have known.
And in case you missed it last week, here are 10 Christmas ads taken out of the Inquirer in 1911 and 1961.
Quizzo for the Cause: Project HOME
In the spirit of the season, I would like to raise some money over the next two days at quizzo. I will be asking for donations at each quiz. 100% of the money raised will go to the Project HOME. Project HOME is a non-profit that provides housing, opportunities for employment, medical care, and education to the homeless. Here are some more details from their website.
The mission of the Project H.O.M.E. community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. We strive to create a safe and respectful environment where we support each other in our struggles for self-esteem, recovery, and the confidence to move toward self-actualization.
Deck the Hall and Oates
Amazing.
JGT on Lunch Break With Rhea Hughes Today
Yeah, I’m kind of a big deal. Notice how she kept trying to get me to talk about hockey and I just pretty much entirely avoided the questions. I just don’t know a damn thing about hockey. I admit it. Still, it was a lot of fun and Rhea was easy to work with. I pretty much just walked in there, sat down, and they said “Rolling!” and off we went. Not a lot of prep time, but it seemed to go OK.
It’s a Wonderful Quiz Starts Tonight
It’s that time again. Time for a wonderful annual tradition, the JGT Holiday Extravaganza. There will be questions on Christmas movies, Christmas songs, Christmas holidays, as well as a Hanukkah question or two just to convince Conservatives that I am part of the War on Christmas. We kick it off tonight at the North Star Bar at 7 p.m. We will have one quiz this week, unless I get 3 or more teams that want to play again on Thursday. And I’ll be wearing some very special outfits courtesy of the JGT “Christmas Collection”. And I might have an ugly sweater or two to give away as well. Hope to see ya tonight!
