Medical Week at Quizzo
This week, our questions are all going to be about the medical field…well, loosely. Songs about surgeons, questions about quacks, and general trivia about General Hospital. Don’t worry, you won’t need a PhD to get through this quiz…though it couldn’t hurt. Gonna be a lot of fun, and now that Beer Week is over, I’ll have two different quizzes this week. Action starts tonight at Sidecar at 9:30. Great opportunity to get a win and score some valuable JGTSI points. Hope to see ya tonight!

Last Quizzo of Week 1 of the JGTSI
Quizzo Tonight
Quizzo Tonight
We did the all-beer quiz last night, written by Carl B Sure, and it was a lot of fun. Songs about drinking, beer commercials, beer brands, plenty of good stuff in there. Tonight we kick off the beer quiz at O’Neals at 8 p.m. $50 gift cert for the winners, $100 if they can crack 120 points.
Carl B Sure will be at Alla Spina, where there’s gonna be a Beer Week event, so it should be a great time. Action starts at 8 p.m.
On to Tap House at 10:15, which will be OUTDOORS. We’ve done the past two weeks outside, and it’s been downright awesome. Gonna be another beautiful night tonight, so look forward to seeing you there.
And one programming note: Industry quiz is OFF for this Thursday, as they have a Beer Week event instead. We’ll be back in action next week.
Question of the Week
Beer Quiz This Week
Only one quiz tonight, at Sidecar at 9:30 p.m. The theme for this week’s quiz is beer, since it’s Beer Week, so I’ll give you a heads up now: there’s only one quiz this week. It’s also the first week of the JGTSI, so points start counting this week. More details coming tomorrow. Question of the week coming soon.
Today’s video is of some intense monster truck action. My son is really into Monster Trucks (his favorite is Grave Digger), and so now I’m totally into it. The terrible Nu-metal just makes it even more awesome.

As far as artists this week, we’ll wrap up with a Philadelphia portrait artist named Thomas Sully. Born in England, he moved to Philly when he was 22 and would remain in Philly until his death at age 89. He painted portraits of many well known military and political figures of his day, including John Quincy Adams and Marquis de Lafayette, and his portrait of Andrew Jackson is the one seen on the $20 bill. Above is his portrait of Thomas Jefferson, which hangs in the Rotunda at UVA.
