Hillary Clinton was raised Republican and actually attended the 1968 Republican National Convention, held in what city?
Alright, let’s try this again.

Stumbled across something awesome recently: an 1849 guide to dens of ill repute in Philadelphia. It formed the basis of most of our podcast this past week (how much would you need to pay us to travel back in time and sleep with the toothless Ms. Hamilton?) You may also want to give it a read. The intro is great: snarky and completely disingenuous. The reviews are amazing: “Beware of this house, stranger, as you would the sting of a viper.”
I also found this interesting, and we discussed it in the podcast:
In the nineteenth century, a woman who owned property, made high wages, had sex outside of marriage, performed or received oral sex, used birth control, consorted with men of other races, danced, drank, or walked alone in public, wore makeup, perfume, or stylish clothes — and was not ashamed — was probably a whore.
Action kicks off at Alla Spina with Carl B Sure at 8 p.m. and at O’Neals at 8 also. I’ll be heading over to City Tap House, where you not only have a great shot of winning a $100 gift cert (it’s really anybody’s ballgame over there) but you also get to play outdoors on the patio. Going to be an absolutely beuatiful night to play outdoors. We’ll also be raising money for the Dude Hates Cancer at the quiz tonight. We raised $200 last night at Sidecar, and are hoping to make $2k on the week.
Hope to see ya tonight!
It’s time for our 3rd Annual The Dude Hates Cancer Fundraiser next week at quizzo, and I’m looking forward to raising money for such a great cause. In 2014 we raised $1503. Last year, we raised $1446. I want to go over $1750 this year. Let’s make it happen!
Here’s how it works: you guys buy raffle tickets next week. 1 for $5 or 6 for $20. There will be a drawing in September at the TDHC bowling party (you don’t need to be present to win). The winner is gonna walk with gift certificates to 24 different restaurants in Philadelphia.
So what is TDHC? The Dude Hates Cancer is Philadelphia’s finest charity bowling tournament, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of SEPA. It’s in its 11th year, and raised over $70,000 last year. It’s all volunteer so all the donated money goes to blood cancer research and to helping cancer patients and their families get treatment. The main event is September 24th at South Bowl. There, they’ll draw the Restaurant Raffle Prize: GC’s for a dinner for two at 24 different Philly restaurants. Those are the raffle tickets we’ll be selling next week- $5 each or 6 for $20.
Again, such a great charity to be a part of and the support by the quizzo community every year is always so overwhelming. Thanks in advance for your awesomeness.
Excited to kick off the summer season at the Oval on Saturday at 4 p.m. (right in front of the Art Museum)! The beer garden at the Oval is AWESOME, and if you come to this quiz you’re gonna have a great time. It’s one of my favorite quizzes, especially because some of my old teams that have had kids or moved to the burbs can still come out, bring the kids, let them run wild, and mom and dad can still play some quizzo. It’s free to play, and yes there are prizes for the winners. Hope to see you Saturday!
