Once I hear back from these teams, I will have a better idea of which wild card teams will get an invite. If you are one of the four teams above and you want to play, hit me up as soon as possible. (And if I missed you on this list and you think you made the cut, let me know.) Thanks!
We had a question about the Battle of Verdun this week. It was inspired when I came across this video on Veteran’s Day. A really fascinating look at the battle, WWI tactics, and life in France at the time. There are 4 parts to the video, so it runs about 35 minutes, but it is extremely compelling. Worth a watch if you’re a history buff. Also, I cannot recommend enough the book All Quiet on the Western Front. Perhaps the best war book I’ve ever read. Just heartbreaking, and really brings to life the horror of WWI. The paperback is 95 cents on Amazon. Get yourself a copy.
This is it. If you want to play on Sunday night at the City Tap House, you need to get in gear tonight. Your best chance of a win is at the Ugly American, where we kick it off at 8 p.m. On to the Bards at 10:15 p.m., where knocking off Steak Em Up will make you a hero. Hope to see ya tonight!
Here’s my final piece in the Philly Post. This is a really fun one. There was a remarkably salacious sex scandal in Philadelphia in the 1790s that makes the Petraeus one look like child’s play.
We kick it off at Locust Rendezvous at 6:15 p.m. Insanely great deal tonight. $3 Sly Fox Pikeland Pils pints. $2 Hamm’s cans. On to Black SHeep at 8 p.m. New specials every week. And of course, you only have 4 more chances to earn an invite. Two teams earned one last night. You don’t want to miss the action on Sunday.
We kick it off at O’Neals at 8 p.m. If you want to play this Sunday, this may be your best shot to win. Not to mention that there is a $25 bounty on Mysterious Mr. Mapother, meaning winning team tonight walks with $75. Not bad at all. Action starts at 8 p.m. On to the City Tap House at 10:15 p.m. $100 gift cert for the winners. Hope to see ya tonight.
