What: 3rd Annual Johnny Goodtimes Summer Invitational

When: Today (Sunday) at 6 p.m.

Where: City Tap House (3925 Walnut Street).

Other details: $10 a pop. Tons of prizes, great live music, and a damn fun quiz. Teams can be up to 8. Your team must have qualified to play, but if you and a friend want to play, feel free to swing by. I’m sure there will be a few teams who could use an extra person or two. See ya tonight!

We’ve got an awesome local group lined up for between rounds at the JGTSI. Two members of the Toy Soldiers will be rocking and rolling between rounds. Action starts at 6 p.m. Updated teams and specials can be found here.

Just talked to Andy. We have got some AWESOME prizes and specials lined up for Sunday. $3 Sierra Nevada Pale Ales, $3 Sly Fox Weisse, $4 Jack’s Cider cans and $6 Spiked Watermelon Lemonade. As for food, we’ve got $10 Smoked TriTip Beef Sandwiches with slaw and fries, $10 spiced wings, and $10 margherita pizzas. In addition to sick prizes for the winners, I’m gonna have Phillies tix to give away, as well as tix to City Tap House’s upcoming Crab Fest (this thing looks awesome, and TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb are incredible). For our show, we’ve got a couple of members of another great local band, the Toy Soldiers.

As for tonight, we start at Ugly American at 8 p.m. A GREAT shot to earn an invite, though Extra Testicle has won 2 out of the last 3 weeks. On to the Bards at 10:15 p.m., where there is STILL a $40 bounty on the head of Steak Em Up. Beat them and take first place and you’ll be up $80 in prizes. Big time. As for this week, it’s Wild Card Week. If you didn’t make the cut, you’ve still got a shot. Just finish first or second this week at any quiz, and you can earn an automatic invite. Your best chances? Certainly North Star is your best chance. After that, I’d say Ugly American. Get your squad together. We’re gonna have a lot of fun next Sunday. Hope you can make it.
