Spencer Hawes Is a Political Mastermind
Sixers Center Spencer Hawes had some interesting things to say about health care yesterday. And by interesting, I mean idiotic.
I’m no ornithologist, but I’m fairly certain that bald eagles don’t cry. Secondly, I know a lot of people who oppose Obamacare, but they base their belief on facts and figures, not on the emotions of birds.
Yeah, we’re like Russia in 1983. I just went to the grocery store to try to buy some bread and they were fresh out!
Oh, I bet the kids loved that. Paying money to hear Spencer Hawes carry on a discourse about the individual mandate.
Spencer, how about spending less time looking for emotionally unstable birds and start working on your rebounding?

At Bards, Bounty on Steak Em Up is up to $25. A round on toys, and a round on movies. Hope to see ya tonight!
All-New Quizzo Tonight
Back in business tonight, starting at the Vous at 6:15 p.m. On to the Black SHeep at 8 p.m. As far as the Summer Invitational is concerned, there is our first physical challenge of the Invite, over on facebook. And I think the wild card round might be on toys again. That was pretty fun earlier this week.
Comedy Show This Friday Night
Got a great comedy show lined up for Friday night at the Shubin. Some of Philly’s funniest comedians, including Doogie Horner, Chip Chantry, and Juliet Hope Wayne, will be telling stories of their childhood. Show starts at 8 p.m. at the Shubin (4th and Bainbridge). Tix are $12 at the door, or $10 by ordering online in advance. Gonna be a great show, and I’ll even be telling a few stories about my former Little League team, the worst baseball team ever assembled in the sport’s history. For more info, check out the event’s facebook page.
Big Money Tuesday
$50 gift cert for winner at O’Neals (3rd and South) at 8 p.m. $100 gift cert for winner at City Tap House (39th and Walnut) at 10:15. Wild card round is on toys. See ya tonight!

Question of the Week
A Little Weekend Reading
Here’s my piece this week from the Philly Post on my decision to give soccer a fair shake, and quit being a hater.
Here’s an awesome picture of Shibe Park drawn in 1946.
The story of John Coleman, the Phillies pitcher who set an MLB record with 48 losses in a single season.
Oh, and that poster you see above? That’s for a show next Friday at the Shubin (4th and Bainbridge), and it’s going to be incredible. Some of the funniest people in Philadelphia (plus me) telling stories from their childhood. Should be a blast.
