Close one at the Black Sheep on Wednesday, a comeback win at O’Neals, and a big win for the Jams. But the choice for match of the week goes to the Bards Tuesday night, where Narcotyzing Dysfuntion became the 2nd team in JGT quizzo history to record a perfect score. The Narcs have long been the Sofa Kingdom’s chief rival on Tuesdays, and indeed the two teams were tied after three rounds on Tuesday. But the Kingdom recorded a mortal 42 in the final round, and the Narcs went 10 for 10, much to Johnny’s chagrin. Questions next week are expected to be extremely difficult.

How Sweet It Is!
That 2nd inning was just unreal. Here is my write up about Zen and the Brett Myers at-bat. For beerleaguers take, click here. But I have a quick question: between the Eagles loss to a mediocre Bears team and the Phillies two wins vs. Milwaukee, do you think the scales finally tipped? Is it too early to call Philadelphia…a baseball town?
Boxing Tonight at Blue Horizon
Yes I know I am like a one man promotional vehicle for the place, but I promise I didn’t cut some sort of deal to host Quizzo Bowl there. I really do think that you gotta check this place off your Philly-to-do check list to see a fight. And tonight is a good night to do it, as America’s #7 ranked heavyweight, Fast Eddie Chambers, tries to run his record to 31-1. For more info, click here. Opening Bell is 7:30 p.m.
Political Talk
- Yet another argument that Bush is in Buchanan/Hoover territory. “Voluntary regulation. That phrase now joins “heckuva job, Brownie” and “mission accomplished” among those that will always be associated with the Bush presidency.” Looks like plenty of people agree. Bush’s current approval rating is at a historically low 22%, lower than Nixon was the day he resigned from office.
- Ever wonder what the stars say about McCain and Obama? No, not the Hollywood stars, the actual stars in the sky. Astrologists tell us everything we need to know about the them and their VP nominees.
- Ann Coulter says that Joe Biden is essentially a Nazi sympathizer. He does remind me a lot of Rommel.
- As far as last night’s debate: If anyone played a drinking game in which they had to take a shot every time Palin said “maverick”, they would have had to go to the emergency room for alcohol poisoning. The libs say Biden won and the conservatives say that Palin won. What do you think?

Could Start a Few Minutes Late if Phils Game Runs Long
Just a heads up. I’ll be watching the Phils game (I woulda gone if I coulda talked anyone into going.) Should be over around 6, so we should be good to go after that. But if it runs long, we could start a few minutes late. I know, I know, I’ve been a stickler for “starting promptly” over the years, so I hope this doesn’t upset anyone.
