Savage Henry (formerly known as We got Nothin’) recently made a major free agency acquisition, picking up Skip from the (now defunct?) Young and the Restless. It paid off last week as they won for the 2nd time in a month. Their two wins sandwiched two wins by Where’s John’s Rum. Will we see a new champ tonight? Action starts at 8 p.m. Meanwhile, if you’re sick of having to stand to play at the Bards on Thursday night, then come by tonight. Been much mellower on Tuesday than Thursdays. Quality of play has been improving at Good Dog as of late. Will it continue tonight? Action starts at 8 p.m. Nobody took my advice and switched to Tuesday at Bards, so if you’re gonna play, I’d suggest getting their early. Been packed lately. Kick off is at 10:15 p.m. Hope to see ya tonight.

Today would be the 73rd birthday of Zimbabwe’s first President, Canaan Banana. I tell you this because I just love saying the words “Canaan Banana”. Say them with me, won’t you? Try to say Canaan Banana and not smile. I dare you.

It seems like every single woman I know has some sort of comment about The Bachelor on their facebook status today, and then I go to Yahoo and it’s the lead story. I didn’t even know this show was still on the air. Am I just totally out of it? Is this the best show since Melrose Place and I’m just missing out? And why is Jason such an a******? I mean, isn’t anybody willing to go on a reality show subject to being humiliated? Why is everyone mad because of what he did to Melissa (I read about it on Yahoo)? They are reality show contestants, for goodness sakes. That’s like getting mad at how Flavor Flav treated New York.

The two-hit wonder turns a funky cold 43 today.

Trivia Art, BMT, and I recently decided to start a sports website, and I think that you guys are gonna dig it. It’s iSportacus.com, and it’s destiny is to be the greatest sports blog of the past 30 years. We’re still tweaking it a bit, but I wanted you guys to give a quick look see. Check out whether or not B-Dawk is a dirty player, what unbreakable sports record was set on this date in 1962, and why Cole Hamels throws people in lakes. One thing I definitely want you to do is to join us in our Streak for the Cash Contest, where you can win gift certificates to Pub and Kitchen and Bards for playing. If we can get a bunch of people in this, it’s gonna be a lot of fun.

First of all, Quizzo Bowl News. I am in talks with a band right now that, if we can make it happen, would be a lot of fun. Hopefully I will know in the next day or two. As far as tickets, I am hoping to have them available this week. I ordered them last week and hope to get them in the mail in the next day or two. They will also be available online later this week. Still looking for a spot to have an afterparty in South Philly. Let me know if you guys have any ideas.

Another note: for the last three weeks things have been INSANE at the Bards on Thursdays and kind of quiet on Tuesdays. If you want to be play at the Bards and be assured a good seat, you might wanna think about Tuesdays. It’s fun when it’s crazy on Thursdays, but I’d just like to split it up a little better.

I’m also going to make this point again: if you are going out to quizzo, do not order water and split an order of fries between five of you. It is poor form. You are certainly not required to drink at quizzo, and I would never pressure anyone to do so. But if you don’t drink, please be considerate of your server and order food. This is fortunately not a widespread problem but it does occasionally come up so I’m just putting it out there.
